if there be no god, one has to accept final responsibility for one's own actions.

i can see why that might be difficult for some people.

especially ones who are fundamentally evil.

Isn't it funny how (most) people will readily agree that they didn't exist before they were conceived, and yet, argue that they will exist after they die? Why? Ego, arrogance, conceit. So, yeah, the answer to your question is: Yes, it takes a certain level of maturity to get over yourself.

Definitely about dying, but ceasing to exist? No..my body will never leave the Earth and become part of the Earth.

If you equate "maturity" with "intelligence" then I wholeheartedly agree. To accept otherwise is to admit the intelligence level of a two year old.

I have accepted the fact I will one day die. I am still afraid, but I accept it. I am not so much afraid of dying, as I am afraid of never seeing my wife and son again. My passing will be very emotional for me.

I've found that the older you are, the more likely it is you embrace religion and the idea of an afterlife. Perhaps "maturity" follows a parabolic curve?

when a man dies he does not cease to exist. its only the body that dies . but what a man needs is knowledge to accept this facts

Most adults know it but acceptance is another thing.Some people can't accept it even while dying,thinking they would be fine after treatment.Agreed.
