He wasn't deported. He wasn't allowed back in for communist leanings.

That's funny because now people with communist leanings get to run for president and get cheered.

I don't believe he was deported, but he was precluded from entering the US for a number of years as a communist. Communists were ineligible for visas until relatively recently. Chaplin was finally allowed to return to the US to receive his lifetime achievement Academy Award shortly before his death.

Not sure but wikipedia must have something about his life. I only know about Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory myself. He's at a fat farm in New Mexico tryin' to lose that pork.
