Most certainly Catholics do. In fact they are far more biblically-based than most people think. The Catholic church has a rich resource of other activities (say, pilgrimages, looking after the sick), devotions (to the saints, the Holy Land), and liturgy (the Word of the Lord, the Eucharist- Holy Communion) and, sometimes, these can be seen by those in other chrches - or none - as having more importance than the life and words of Jesus. This is not in fact the case, but Catholics can often, by their enthusiasm, give this wrong and occasionally off-putting impression !

The Rosary is a contemplative way of praying and meditating on the life of Jesus. Using a set of beads (bead means prayer originally) made of cheap plastic or nuts or precious stones one can count the sets of prayers while meditating on, say, the Nativity, Passion or Resurrection. Saying the rosary can be done alone, in bed, in the car, or as a group in church or walking on a pilgrimage.

Hope that helps !

Yes, Catholics use the Bible. We have readings every day. Today's readings are:

Isaiah 11:1-10
Psalm 72:1,7-8,12-13,17
Luke 10:21-24

We also use the Rosary, although it's optional. The Rosary is a set of meditations on the life and works of Christ (events found in the Bible, like His birth, His crucifixion, His resurrection, etc.), accompanied by Biblical prayers (i.e., prayers based on Scripture). The Rosary is not the Bible, but it's not in opposition to the Bible, so it's not an either-or thing.

Yes, the Catholics use the Bible at every Mass. We do not say the Rosary at Mass. Sometimes there will be a special gathering to say the Rosary together, but it is never during the Mass.

The Bible is an integral part of the Mass and the we have a reading from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms, and one of the Gospels. If you go to Mass every day for 3 years you will hear the entire Bible read.

The Catholic Bible, referred to above, is the original Bible. Martin Luther "removed" 7 books during the Reformation, we did not add them. The 7 books he removed, HE deemed not inspired by God because they did not fit HIS interpretation of salvation. Pretty arrogant huh?

Of course they do. Remember every Christian in this country was a Catholic before the reformation. Catholics used the bible first.

The Rosary is a beaded necklace used when Catholics pray. It allows them to feed the beads through there fingers when they need to count the devotions and Hail Marys etc. Some are very beautiful and very valuable.

Catholics use the Bible although as correctly stated already, the Clergy have the responsibility for its interpretation.

The Rosary is a string of beads that have been adopted to count prayers systematically and are often used by devout people to pray to Mary and ask for intercession in times of need.

Your ignorance is pardoned the moment you ask for Wisdom, that after all is why we are here, to awaken the mind to the Wisdom of God dwelling within us and express it through Love each day.

Catholics use the first Bible or the Gutenberg, the old testament was written in Hebrew, and the new testament was written in Greek. Later both the old testament and new were combined and written in Greek.
Protestants read the King James version of the Catholic bible or as we like to say, a rewrite. The rosary has not been used during the church service, since Pope John.
Both the Catholic and the Protestant Bibles are the result of many many translations. Hope this helps you.

The Bible as a whole was not compiled until the late 4th century and then it was compiled by a Catholic saint (St. Jerome) at the request of a Catholic pope (St. Damasus).

What did Martin Luther, the Protestant Reformer, state about the Bible? In his "Commentary On St. John," he stated the following: "We are compelled to concede to the Papists that they have the Word of God, that we have received It from them, and that without them we should have no knowledge of It at all." Regardless of what non-Catholic Christians may think or say, according to secular, objective historians, the Catholic Church alone preserved Sacred Scripture throughout the persecution of the Roman Empire and during the Dark Ages. All non-Catholic Christian denominations owe the existence of the Bible to the Catholic Church alone. Why did God choose the Catholic Church to preserve Scripture if It is not His Church?

Catholics read the Bible and it is used in services. Many also still use a rosary when they pray.

Catholics use both. They also use a third the Catholic Bible, which is the same as other bibles with the exception that it contains 6 more books that were not included in the Christian bible. The rosary is used for prayer and meditation. It is used for intercessory prayer to Mary the mother of Jesus to intercede on our behalf with Her Son and to meditate on the life of Christ.
