Being a Navy Veteran, and having seen what war can do to really young people involved, and roughly about 65% of our troops are under the age of 30, how much longer can we do this to them and their families? Mentally, how stable will they really be to live out the rest of their life?

I'm an Air Force veteran and agree with you that this war has gone on too long. To say John McCain or any Republican other than Ron Paul will get us out is lunacy all will continue four more years of billions in a black hole being spent. I go to the VA hospital and see the vets coming back without limbs and they are so young. And then I read all the people calling everyone a socialist because they themselves have lots of money. Hillary may be the best bet, I don't know, but whoever is the next president has one heck of a mess on his or her hands ahead of them....

We are going to be there for years. Look at Japan, Germany, Korea. If you expect anything different, or a candidate tells you something different, someone is totally ignoring the reality of the situation and of history. We won't always be there in the numbers that we are today, but we will have a presence for years to come. Trainers, advisers, etc. All we have done with there military is train foot soldiers. We still have to help them build and train everything else. Artillery, armor, motor-transport, an Air Force, air defense, all the other stuff that a national defense force needs. That will take time and money. In the mean time, we have to protect Iraq from those who might invade (Iran, Syria, Turkey). To pull out before Iraq can even properly defend itself would be a crime unto itself.

Don't volunteer if you can't do the mission.

WHOA!! Fred Thompson does no longer help illegals. He has suggested remove incentives, no sanctuary cities, bypass lower back and get in line!! I agree he has no personality yet our President would not want personality. it really is what the Clinton's ,Kerry and all those different Botox creatures have. also he does no longer want to bypass to conflict yet we are there and he will help our troops. He has finished no longer some thing to reason this lead as a lot as Iran problem. yet imagine about this please. He looks not user-friendly. talks not user-friendly and that i guess Iran might want to lower back down if he were elected. we want someone with that image, no longer a pansy mansy or pansy womsy.

I am a 25 yo Air Force Veteran...and I tell you what, the main reason I had to leave is because of the deployments. I would deploy for 6 months...come back for 3...then deploy again (The joy of being assigned to a mobility unit for 4 years). This went on for 3 years...before I had to call it quits. It was not fun. It put the only strain on my marriage. I honestly believe our job is done out there. We can't force democracy on people who want religion to rule their country. It's sad, but it's the truth. Getting back to your queston though, the best candidate is the one who realizes that something needs to be done, and done fast. We are losing so many young people, it's ridiculous. And I ask, for what? In my opinion, Hillary will do the US of A good.

No presidential candidate can get more than 50% of our troops out of Iraq, if any candidate tells you different is lying.

Personally, I'm for John McCain as he is for finding a feasible exit plan and is the only candidate with the experiance on how to lead us out of Iraq with our heads held high.

It's a good thing, that kid isn't old enough to vote! Hillary does NOT belong in the Oval Office. Joh McCain has a great strategy to get us out of Iraq, however.. I want to participate in Iraq as a US Airman. I still have to go to BMT for the AF though, hahaha.

I am not old enogh to vote but i would choose Clinton. she seams like a strong will powered woman who will do her best to take ALL the soldiers out of Iraq. But i think the war shouldnt of happened beacuse Bush shouldnt have started the war. I think Bush is the worst President ever. I think the troops should come back so their families will know there safe. At my school one of my teachers she made us right notes to soldiers and tell them we where thankful for what they were doing for us (I had no prooblem writing the letters) also my teacher she took out of her own pocket $100 dollars to help support all of the troops. But i think she wouldnt have needed to do that if Bush didnt start this terrible terrible war. Every day in the newspaper there are deaths and explosions. When will the newspaper say THE WAR IS OVER?

And the troops won't be out for a long time. If you can't handle it, I'm glad you got out. Those of us who can handle it will finish it! Vote for Huckabee and watch us kick some more terrorist tail!

Don't look now, but it's almost 2008 and we're still in Germany, Japan and Italy. We've been there since 1945. We're still in South Korea. We've been there since 1950.
