fluid flow and for full flow .It shape resembles with spectales ,one side is having full blind plate and other side is having ring as shown in the image links.

#Line blinding has been used to pipelines in various industries wherever either positive shutoff is most concerned or full flow should be achieved without pressure drop.

* Line Blind :
The usual practice for line blinding by using typical materials such as spectacle blinds, spool piece, blind flange valves etc. with gaskets inserted between flanges has however been labour intensive & time consuming and thus resulted in making expense factors which include the time required for the blinding/blanking process, loss of productivity caused by long blinding time and also the operators of the production line have been unavoidably exposed to the potential hazard of explosion, fire, pollution and in halation.

Well its not easy to explain, but I'll have a go, a spectacle blind is a shut off valve in a pipe line, it's shaped like one half of a pair a spectacles, it's circlular and moves in a circular path to close the pipeline, the spade blind is a similar device, but is shaped like a garden spade, and moves down a channel to close the pipeline. I would do an image search in yahoo for Specacle Blind and Spade Blind to see an image, this will give you a better idea of how the valves work in practice.
