The past 2 months I have had this ticking going on in my left ear. When I'm laying down and switch sides it clicks/ticks. Also when I answer the phone and the person is talking loud even when I'm listening on the right ear. Well after Thanksgiving we were putting the lights out in the cold and my left ear started to ache. 3 days ago I woke up with my left side of the jaw hurting. It's almost like it's sore but when I try and open it hurts. I have also discomfort in my chest, such as my chest hurting while I'm typing. When I would take deep breaths it would hurt. That lasted a couple of days and it hasn't happened since. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance!

I had this kind of pain in my ear and jaw and I told the doctor that was treating me for an ear problem I had that the medications he was giving me didn't work. So I went and got another opinion and it turned out my problem was TMJ Syndrome. This is a painful condition of the temporal mandibular jaw and this can be caused by stress (mine had started acting up again not too long ago because of a situation with my mom).

I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
