I am a Christian with both family members and friends of differing religions but all have the same basic belief. Our basic belief is one true God, one Savior, Jesus, one baptism, virgin birth, death and Resurrection of Jesus, that God is three in one (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). These are fundamentally the same in all arenas of Christian and Catholic faiths. We have many discussions involving the differences of customs in our respective religious orders. I have learned quite a bit from these differences and think they have made me a more intelligent and informed Christian.

Yes - and it does affect relationships even if they have the same basic belief that Christ is God and they have the indwelling Holy Spirit. The spirit of error can prevent Christians becoming disciples of Christ - and you too if you let it.

I'm atheist, so are most of my siblings, and our mother is Christian. The only problem is with one mentally ill brother in law who is a fundamentalist and he won't take his medications.

We'd be fine with his beliefs if he wasn't so manic.
