fall pregnant, they ruthlessly and relentlessly badger their boyfriends into getting married (because it is the ultimate taboo to have a child born a b'stard), conveniently forgetting that if they were true Catholics they would not be having sex before marriage in the first place?

And by the way I am of no particular religion - I'm just trying to understand other people's.

Hilda - I know personally of 3 incidences where Catholic women have got their own way in the end - Protestant women I know have always either been married first or prepared to take on single parenthood.

Inseattle - that must explain why they feel that they can sin as much as they like and a quick confession will redeem them again.

There are two views on what makes a 'b@$t4rd' -
CONCEIVED before wedlock and
BORN before wedlock.
And it is not necessarily the girl doing the badgering either - she is often under pressure from her catholic parents who just may not want to admit to an illegitimate grandchild.

Of course, I think what makes up a 'b4$t4rd' is attitude and how a person relates to others - circumstances of birth/conception are not as important as what is made of that life.

your anti-catholicism is showing - it rears its ugly head now and then - we catholics are use to it. why does it not compute with protestants (and others) that we dont claim to be perfect. we struggle as much as the next person to do God's will in our lives what is so difficult to understand there?

Barney Ard: catholic girls have massive hang ups?...darling look in the mirror.

i was raised catholic and never once did i get the "sex is dirty" line - not at home and not in my catholic schooling or catechism classes. i grew up with the understanding the sex is reserved for the married. not something that singles are entitled to as sex without love in the sacrament of marrige is not God's ideal. the fact that YOU couldnt bed catholic girls doesnt make it their hang-up but yours. so sorely tempted to call you an idiot. oops dang there i go again my sinfulness is showing.

Legally separated potential alot greater desirable than merely "separated" or "taking a injury". If he cut up together with her a month or 2 in the past, then i could say this is too massive of a risk for you and he's the two rebounding or finding for somebody to guard him. in the event that they have been separated for awhile (like a year), then i could say the possibility of him working lower back to her are narrow to none. The divorce technique could be very high priced and extremely long. i understand people who're "legally separated" and moving on with their lives and have been caught in a quagmire of a divorce for 3 years or greater. i understand people who have been separated and in basic terms legally divorce years later using fact they % to remarry. It would not recommend they have been cheating on their spouse for 10 years, they only in no way finalized the divorce. If the guy is over his ex, moved on together with his existence, and intends to finalize a divorce, there's no longer something incorrect with it - presented that's what he's somewhat doing. and that's conversing from experience. My bf has been "legally separated" for almost 2 years and is interior the technique of finalizing his divorce now (we dated casually for about 6 months and have been jointly for over a year). His ex is relationship and that they have their custody and baby help preparations already finalized interior the courtroom. this would not recommend he's "cheating" on his spouse using fact we are jointly! you are going to be in a relationship with somebody to cheat on them. yet once you're seeing somebody and do intend to get married, he's going to could finalize that divorce decree before.

Why are you picking on Catholic women. Don't tell that other girls, regardless of their religion, don't do that. Come on, you know better than that!

So based on 3 incidents, you are going to judge millions of Catholic girls?

There are religions that would kill you if you get pregnant before getting married.

I didn't marry my single Catholic pregnant woman. I found out right before our first experience that she couldn't get pregnant because she had been in a relationship a couple years before and had had a miscarriage which had complications afterward that meant she couldn't get pregnant. Like a good Catholic girl she tried acting like it was a miraculous though not immaculate conception when she gave me the news.

that goes for any religion that believes in no sex before marriage. Besides, catholics don't believe in birth control since it's god's will to procreate.

In their eyes, the baby was meant to be.

So....what yer say'n is....a true Catholic isn't a sinner? You got us messed up with those other guys. Sinning is WHY we are Catholic!!! Without sin, what's the use of a Church? A Bible? A Lord? When did Christian take on the meaning of infallable? We are human beings who fall prey to our flesh (and quite rightly...oh yeah). And, this mystery is specific to Catholic girls? WOW!!

I think it is more about trapping the guy into marriage. I am assuming the boyfriend is catholic also so that would definetly put the pressure on him to comply.

if you don't know any protestant single mothers then you have led a remarkably sheltered life.

you should ask if you can be allowed out more often (or at least be given tv room rights).

Sounds like you want to present certain people of faith in a bad spot, when people of no faith do the same thing.
Judge not less ye be judged.
