You can improve your English by reading, writing, talking with friends, audio books, telephone conversations, etc. You have to be really willingly to learn and use every opportunity to do so. When you go to stores talk, listen, and learn. Being very knowledgable about your surroundings and their potential to help you improve your English skills is essential. Ask for help if you don't know a word or need any kind of help. Goodluck Learning!!!

You HAVE to be around ONLY ENGLISH speaking people. If you only speak English in your classes...and the rest of the time you hang out with non English speaking friends....you will never learn. I know peopel that were taught English throughout their academic career in their native countries...but are still stuck in a rut...than they come here for 1 year and their English skills are more than everything they ever learned!!

Join good coaching classes nearby. Listen BBC Radio every hour, tape, replay & try to repeat yourself again & again daily till you achieve perfection in 3-6 months or so depending on your ability. Try to talk in English to your family members at home & friends outside, correct or wrong or whether they ridicule or appreciate. Your aim must be supreme , not reactions of others in the beginning. Good luck.

Have a small dictionary to hand.
An' dinny worry , thur will always be a few wee words that will confuse - many of us speak slang alot, Just keep at it.
