Cherokee, have 1990..250,000 miles and more. 1993 Grand around same mileage. Still a lot depends on the last owner and maintenance, but the basic design is almost bullet proof. The Cherokee was in production from 1984 to 2001 and very few basic changes,,so you can get replacement parts almost every junk yard and auto store.
Personalization or customizing is limited to your imagination due to large amount of after market parts. There were over 2 million of them made.
Get the idea?
Good Luck

They're very reliable as long as the previous owner took care of it. I.E. oil/filter changes every 3,000 miles. Transmission service every 55,000 miles.

My 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 4.0L I6 has 189,325 miles on it and the only thing I've done is replaced the starter at 188,487 miles, and a new radiator at 187,390 miles. It still runs great and I use it off-road quite a few times. 4x4 works great (full-time 4x4) no 2WD mode in this model.

I had an old 97 Grand Cherokee that had 186k on the odometer when I sold. Only problem I had was a broken suspension weld, which a coworker fixed so no repair bills ever:) My dad had 300k on an old Cherokee but that thing went thru hell but always ran although I bet it used more oil and other fluids than gas at the end. He used it to hall wood around from the cabin to home.

Jeeps Rule. Had a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L V8 ( better of the V8's). baught it with 205,000 miles on it..Ran great, had it for a year put it up to 214,00 miles. never any engine problems at ALL. Will go ANYWHERE...well, if u know how to drive it...sold it for $2,000 last week :( very bad idea...should not have taken any less than $2,500 for it..oh well..
depends on how well the vehicle was maintaned.

96-98 Are different style then 99-2000. Also you had diffrent engine options in both from Inline 6 (ever year) 5.2 V8 in 96-98 ZJ and 99-2000 WJ had the 4.7L V8.

if your looking for the 100,000 mile club shoot for a very clean V8 that away taken care of might cost little more for clean V8 or you can go for the Inline 6 that is bullet proof!!

Anyone who says a Jeep is Not reliably has NOT owned one. I have had a number of them personally and in my family, 100k is when they are beginning to get broken in. FAr more SOLID then an import SUV,

the fact that they get there is already an epitaph, they hol dup well provided you do the minimum for them and look after them reasonably... much depends on how the engine has been treated for now, get a garage to look at it for you ....look how much oil is around the engine, old grease for oil leak under pressure - usual stuff....
