I'm 28 and I've never had to wear glasses. Well recently I've noticed that when it's late at night and I'm a little drowsy my vision gets a little blurry and I have to squint and blink to see better. Actually I'm beginning to notice that I have the same problem on and off throughout the day. It's not to the point where I can't tell what's in front of me even from a distance but it is blurrier than usual. Both of my mom and dad where glasses but neither of my siblings do.

yes.... that is how it started with me... from the computer :(

and now im wearing glasses im not blind though im only a -1.25.

go to the eye doctor, because sometimes you can correct your vision (back to 20/20) if its mild.. by wearing glasses for a while... or contacts. if you keep straining your eyes it could get worse

I think you mean 20/150, which means you have to stand as close as 20 feet to see what a "normal" (not perfect but normal) person can see at 150 feet. A normal person means one who does not need correction for distance vision. It does not mean that they have extraordinary vision and can see signs that are far away without binoculars or a telescope. I believe legal blindness starts at around 20/200 but not sure about that. Legal blindness does not mean 'cannot see anything' but means a person is functionally limited such as prohibited from driving, etc. Sometimes lower income people who are legally blind can apply for state aid to help with special glasses or nowadays surgery. When I was young, I had 20/15 vision(better than normal) but now I am around 20/100. By the way, the numbers do not tell anyone whether you are nearsighted or farsighted nor does it say anything about astigmatism, so the numbers are of no use to an optician/lens maker.

even if your siblings do not wear glasses than you still amy need them. eyesight can deteriorate or chage at any age so i wouldnt be surprised if you are noticing this, id suggest to go to an optometrist, its better to get glasses even if you only use them sometimes or when you need them, than tto squint every now and then because even that makes your eyesight deteriorate faster (and gives you wrinkles) plus the testing is covered by medicare :) good luck

As people age, they often need corrective lenses for close vision like reading. That is more common as people approach 40. You are somewhat young for that. Your best bet is to get a thorough eye exam.

Why won't you consult first your optalmologist to check your eyes. it's hard to identify, the cause of blurry vision may be because of some other factors like lack of sleep perhaps?
