You probably need to try stronger drinks, that is, those with a higher alcohol percentage. Also if you drink on an empty stomach that gets you drunk quicker.

You must have built up a large tolerance from drinking too much. Drink faster, but be careful.
I can't get really drunk on light beer. It eventually gets filling and tiring and boring. So I can drink that as long as I want and not have much trouble. But liquor, be careful with it. Liquor can be drunk much faster and it sneaks up on you.
There is only one way to reduce your tolerance, and I highly recommend it in your case. Quit drinking. For you, you might have to quite for months. When you start back up, your tolerance will be lower. It's not good to have too high a tolerance, as drinking a lot is bad for the body and the wallet.

Nicole, if your idea of fun is to get drunk, you would need to drink more of beer then liquor. Getting drunk depends on your body weight and what you eat before you drink. Drinking on a empty stomach is not good, and hard on you, but you will get drunk faster that way. The more weight you carry the more you have to take in to get drunk.
Be-careful, if you drink to much, and you then let it hit you, you may find yourself pasted out and in a hospital or dead from a alcohol poisoning.

trying moonshine is no solution....i tried it couple of times and did not get drunk from it. Not that i was looking to get drunk.
What are you drinking? Sometimes i used to drink some very sweet drinks my room-mate fixed at his job and i did not think i was drunk............until i needed to use the bathroom!...could hardly walk to the room! So try some sweet drinks. Why bother to look into getting drunk????????
It makes you look older, can't talk right or walk right.........and can't remember things.

One of the cardinal signs of alcoholism is just what you are experiencing- a very high tolerance for alcohol. It is actually the acme before you crash and hit the proverbial "bottom".
Go to the Alcoholics Anonymous website if you don't believe me. Look at the chart about the stages of alcoholism.

everyones tolerence to alcohol is different... and the ones that said that you can get drunker faster by not eating is not true... as i said everyone is different and it all reacts different... sounds like you are a season veteran on the drinking.. but depending on some nights it will change... where you say one night a 6 pack of beer gets you drunk but then another night he takes and 18... its all depends on the atmosphere the ppl that you are with your mood and how you feel....

While enjoying your favorite adult beverage try wrapping a plastic bag over your head. The lack of oxygen to your brain should speed up the intoxicating affects of the alcohol. Cheers.
