it's not natural, it's a processed product, especially white sugar. It ruins the teeth. You know, that in year 1000 A.C. sugar was very expensive, and people mostly used honey. Archaeologists who dag out their graves marvel at their teeth - rare any of them is missing! And they didn't have dental care and toothpaste then! Nowadays, even if you stop taking sugar, you'll still receive it from other products, it's added to everything.

While sugar is natural, it's not an item that's necessarily, for lack of a better term, normal food. People rarely go out and eat sugar cane. Similarly, people rarely go out and eat hunks of salt from the seashore, or buckets full of honeysuckle, or handfuls of honey, etc. The basis of nutrition and sustenance is meats, fruits and vegetables.

Sugar is edible, but it is an additive, and additionally, it is usually processed. In moderation, there's really nothing wrong with it, but we've long ago strayed from moderation in our diets!

In a regular diet, with real foods, the body is presented with some naturally occurring sugars and starches, which is usually fine (unless someone has type 1 diabetes) but when we add extras that aren't actually a part of natural foods, we can easily overload our systems.

Sugar is not bad. Obesity is bad. Sugar is a necessity to the body for the source of energy. Without sugar you'll be dead. The problem arises when people have diabetes and continue consuming high sugar foods like pastries, desserts, ice cream, soda. Sugar gets converted to fat if not used. So eat the optimal amount. Eating anything like salt, sugar, fat is a danger to a glutton.

It like anything else is only bad for us in large quantities, we eat way too many things with added sugar for taste and so the body processes it badly and can become addicted to the "sugar rush" leaving you depressed and down if you don't have it! In small quanties and not processed i.e. found naturally in foods it is in actual fact an essential part of our diet!!! Everything in moderation!

Natural sugar, found in fruit and vegetables are not too bad. Also complex sugars, in the form of starch are released slowly, which makes them useful. The problem is that we now consume masses of refined sugar or sucrose. The sugar overload causes us both to gain weight and puts too much strain on our pancreas.

depends what sugar... sugar from soft drink?? or fruit...

if its from soft drink it makes our blood sugar rise. if our blood sugar gets to high then we will die. when we have to much blood sugar... our body releases glucogen which is a hormone that tells the red blood cells to absorbe the sugar and store it.

hope i helped =]
