This is the place (the only place, probably) where they think that they have a superior intellect. They are so smart. I don't know why their is any religion. If the world could just read some of the atheist comments on here it would shut down religion all together.
ha Can anyone read the sarcasm?

the atheistic view allows for a search for the truth,..
if artificial intelligence were to a point where one could download the king james version of the bible along with original texts into the system one would find that the artificial intelligence would verify and understand the existence of GOD and that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, The Anointed One, the Saviour of the world and the ai would most likely be in jouful anticipation of the Second Advent of the Christ,..
the atheist just needs to find the best reasoning to believe,..no one wants to be on the losing team,..
or maybe they like to scoff as the bible said there would be scoffers in the last days,..
these are the last days and our souls are aware that,....

Where else can they question faith?
I appreciate them being here so that they might learn from those of us who Believe.
It gives them a sense of being for the most part. For some to find an outlet to insult or challenge our beliefs but thats ok too. If they weren't intimidated by my Faith in Christ then they would do nothing or say nothing against God. However they look at it they are here to explain their beliefs and thats ok as well.

i understand all i could desire to understand approximately religions. i became into raised a christian, went to christian faculties, went to Sunday college, that's too plenty faith for one guy or woman. i've got no acquaintances at here yet do have many atheist acquaintances, christian acquaintances and a Buddhist buddy. i'm not finding to communicate something with all and sundry. I do locate it unhappy that such countless all and sundry is afraid to stay their lives as a results of crap their church homes tutor them. many faiths tutor human beings they are able to't dance, play enjoying cards, hear to rock song, have intercourse, have fun their birthdays, etc, etc. those issues do not make human beings undesirable. existence is here for individuals to stay it and that's unhappy that many faiths do not enable human beings to stay it. it rather is barely between the least perplexing clarification why i don't stick to any religions there are thousands greater.

Because "atheism" is a religion. Science is a religion and Relativity is its God. They're trying to convert all the pagans out there to their one true religion (science).
It's human nature to believe you're right and to want everyone else to agree with you.
I had a talk with my roommate once. We agreed upon a principal that there are two different "sciences". Science the process - the step by step testing and observation to obtain data. This process, the scientific method, occurs everywhere we look in humanity. Theists use it to prove their religion, atheists use it to prove their (lack of? bah!) religion. Then there is Science the system, which is equivalent to religion as a system. Science as a system is the school of thought that presupposes test and observation as the penultimate method for finding ultimate truth. Where Religion trusts in "intuition" and "inspiration", Science trusts emirical data. But in the end their both conquerable to each other as systems of control.

Just because your atheist doesnt mean you dont want to hear the opinoins of others, especially when it comes to religion. Maybe they are having doubts. Maybe they are more Agnostic than atheist..maybe they want to hear what others have to say about God and religion because they want to know if it may be what they can believe in too
Not sure if i made sense but i tried

part of being an athiest means being educated in religion- all sorts of them, because you have searched for something but nothing works; as a result, you can give a more educated answer- not to say the religiously faithful are always less educated about other religions- they just tend to be that way because they feel so strongly in favor of their particular religion and consider all others "wrong"
for example, i have a friend who seems perfect in so many ways, but when it comes to religion, she thinks that everyone who is not Catholic will be condemned to hell, or something along those lines, and i don't think that is the kind of attitude anyone should have... you can however, argue that perhaps those following other religions are not getting the full benefits from God or something like that... i get that and will also be more likely to tolerate that..
i am bordering agnostic- partly because i don't like what so many religions claim to offer- and i have seen bad christians, muslims, buddhist, hindus, etc. and that just discourages me... their narrow-mindedness is also discouraging... however, i like certain aspects of my religion because they do not limit people in any way
i could go on for a very long time but i hope this helps in your understanding why so many athiests do answer religious questions.... im saying this about athiests because i was for a good chunk of time- i just changed my feeling on the topic because of life

I believe:
They are here to cyber-evangelize their belief. Which is their right. Christians have been tel-evangelizing, door-evangelizing , etc, etc, for years. Though I find it weird that hundreds of Atheists flock to the Y! Answers Religion & Spirituality section. It's their right to spout their belief if they want, they just seem to not like that other people have different perspectives. But that's everyones problem today, everyone is so frickin' sure they are 100% right it's like a tampon stuck between their glutes. When no one knows who is right and who is wrong til we are dead.

Mostly because I hope to help out religous people who misunderstand a lot about things. The big thing is evolution or actual fact, where I see constant comments from religous people that are nothing but lies.
For example, the girl who recently said that theres no conflict between religion and science because the Catholic church founded science and helped it grow. Or the people who ask why evolution is right if they arent a monkey.
Simply put, its to prevent a breeding ground for more stupid ideas that get people hurt and inspire generations of misinformed, stupid people.

Atheist means the lack of belief in God or gods. This does not mean that they lack belief in spirituality.
Many atheists have religions that do not involve a god.
Also, for the atheists that believe in no spirituality whatsoever, why should it bother you that they have questions about god(s) and/or religion? Would there be something wrong with a Christian having questions about the Easter Bunny, even though he/she may not believe in it?
