I think all people who are thinking how to solve illegal migration must think of these:

1. Migration is a fact of life. Economies run, employment shortages in skills-level are filled up in migration. While, all of us disagree with ILLEGAL migration, we should think that the problem with this illegal entry to borders is NOT the sole fault of the illegal migrants

2. First, these illegal migrants only want to secure jobs (only jons NOT drug-trafficking or any other human crime), they want to seek greener pastures like all of us. They want to feed their families, which their country or place cannot obviously provide. Perhaps, some people think so negative about migration because they have never lived in a "developing country" where opportunities are scarce or few.

3. The question here is, the illegal migrants cannot keep on coming, but are the borders REALLY SECURED? The problem is a two-coined situation. The attitude of the illegal migrants and the loopholes of the border security and immigration laws and processes of the receiving state. It is only fair that while many people rant over the illegal migrants crossing borders they should also pressure their government to make the borders as sturdy and high as they can.

4. USA, has spent millions (or even billions of dollars) in humanitarian aid, in war in Iraq, in various international concerns. Why not secure the borders in whole USA? The USA, being the only super-power left in the world, one of the richest nation in the globe, can SURELY make a way to secure the borders with their vast intelligence and sophisticated arms, and advanced technology.

IF they can send men to the moon and robotic explorers to MARS why not spend so much to secure their borders?

I thought I'd seen it all. Might want to go to store or library and scope these out I think they would help you as you cannot do that.. But let me tellyou this, what Uncle George ain't telling you. We issue 8-9 million visas a year and when the visa expires most leave the country, but about 1/3 or over 3 million stay and hide out in the states. They must fly in from all over the world, just at 2 million a year, during Bush and Willie thats over 33 million illegals from all over the world roaming around the country!

Anyway the books below will everything from this to Bush, to lobbyist to the senate to you name it. So you really need like the Starship Enterprise and put the phasers on stun.

Also the FLUFF numbe the gov gives is like in 1986 there ended up being 3 tiems as many as they thought, so 15 million is more like 45 million. Take care.

No, but since the Mexican military has been as far as 60 miles into the U S, we need to send our troops to take care of it. About 27 of the 40 people, who were abducted by the drug runners, are still missing. Local law enforcement is trying, but our 'fearless leaders', the Feds, aren't doing anything to help.

Maybe I'm dense, but if an army infiltrates a country and causes harm, isn't that considered an invasion? Now there is a real reason to retaliate.

Of course, the only people who dare to expose it are Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs. I know Beck gets a bit paranoid at times, but the videos show what terrifying things are being done to innocent people. Some were abducted in late 2005.

Now, I'm more against illegal immigration than most, but even that idea appalls me.

You do know that countries who have employed land mines before have never been able to fully excavate them, don't you? I understand the frustration with illegals, but this will and will continue to kill legal immigrants as well.

That being said, SOMETHING needs to be done to curb the flow of even legal immigration. Just not something drastic like this.

Why not, we have the right to protect our country form invaders. Military bases in other parts of the world protect themselves with land mines, why should we not offer the same protection to our whole country!

Only after securing the border with a wall. Ending handouts and anchor babies and enforcing the law. If those things don't work sure, anything to stop the invasion.

The illegal immigrants need to be dealt with, but that is too cruel. I don't want them to get hurt or die, I just want them to go home.

No, we should never do anything like this. First, we are a nation of laws and should prosecute (criminally) the illegals. Secondly, the use of land mines would most likely be considered to be inhumane. Finally, I think that the US is a signatory to the international treaty banning the use of land mines (at least the anti-personnel kind).
