I work for Mervyns in San Jose, however, later on today I'm going to quit (as in quit today, no 2 weeks notice.) I was wondering if anyone knows when I'll be getting all my money from them. Do they give me my final paycheck on the spot? In the mail? Do I have to come back on their next scheduled payday?

Thanks in advance.

Of course you'll get your final pay check but you'll probably have to wait for the next pay day.

You'll have to go in to pick up your final paycheck on the next payday after the end of the pay period you were in when you walked out. Next time, give notice, its the decent thing to do, especially this time of year. And don't expect a reference for your next job.

They will have your paycheck on payday. But if you're in the middle of a pay period, you may need to go the following payday too. They will hold it until they receive your badge and any important tools issued to you.

You get your paycheck on the scheduled payday...i.e. if today's work goes on next Thursday's check, you will receive it then. You either have to go through the embarrassment of walking in to pick it up, or request they mail it to you.

Usually, you will come back on the final day of the pay period and they give it to you then. They do have the option of mailing it to you if they don't want you to come around which is likely since you aren't giving any notice to them. You can ask them to mail it when you quit. You should have given some notice though. You won't be able to list this job on a reference because you won't be eligible for rehire. Good luck to you.

If you quit, the company is not required to give you a final check on the spot (how could they, anyway?). You'll get your check on your regular payday. You'll have to come in for it.
