and insist on using those with old outdated english. Don't they realize they are only chasing away many young people? As far as the meaning being lost, well, it was already lost when translated into old english so really the only way to read and study the bible would be in the original languages.

I think your made your best point last--everything loses in translation, and no translation can capture accurately the full meaning of a text in its original language. If you believe the Bible is the Word of G-d, then you have to read it in the original Hebrew and Greek. (Concordances are of limited use. For one thing, they don't explain the meanings lost by the shifts in syntax from one language to another...)
If you cannot read the original languages, then I suppose you should read whatever translation of the Bible is most meaningful to you.
BTW, the original edition of the KJV had marginal notes in which the redactors were clearly sensitive to the ambiguities of translating into English, and very respectful of the text, so they listed all the alternative meanings. An interesting read!

1) The doctrine of Inspiration
2) The doctrine of Preservation
3) The doctrine of Translation.

from what you wrote and commented, you hardly know the doctrine of Preservation; and here you are commenting about translation. Learn to walk before you run. Learn to listen before you teach.
