That's the "creator" in each of us.

Peace be with you.

The heart and mind creates imagination, feelings and the story to include it.

The story in the motion picture came from the imagination of the writer of that story then it was presumed by the movie producer tht the said story is good for movie goers to view it in motion pictures.

The motion picture company have engaged characters to form the characters in the story and have it film in thier own expenses , have it to be viewed to the public for commercial purposes.

My analytical thought-processes have come up with an answer;

Experience.

Experience also creates instincts, and several other otherwise inexplicable human mental phenomenon.

As much as it saddens me to admit.

EDIT: So in otherwords, a person who had served in several wars, had been in love many times, and dealt with a lot of hardship would have a better imagination than someone who hadn't.

There's a difference between truly creative imagination and imitative imagination.

When you start with wide ranging, general ideas such as feeling and imagination and try to work out what makes it tick, the only real way is to reduce them down to their components, and then reduce those components down to their fundamentals and design your theories from the ground up.

This is an area in which science is still searching. The brain is hideously complex and so a lot more research is needed to formulate some good answers for your question.
