I want to get a 32" LCD HDTV. I've narrowed it down to two models which are in the same price range, same specs and the pictures are comparable...which brand is better in the long run...

Phillips Magnavox or Sony?

You don't pay for the name with Sony; you pay for the quality. I have a 40" Sony Bravia and a 32" Sony Bravia. I can tell you that none of my friends who own HDTV's (JVC, Phillips, Polaroid, Samsung) has a television with a better picture than the Sony.

When they come over they're always commenting on how clean and clear my picture looks. Sony is the world leader in flat panel televisions for a reaon: it makes them the best. Period.

Hm... I've always been a Sony girl. We have a 50-something inch plasma of theirs, and it's still in perfect condition nearly 2 years later...

I think they are all good. However, Sony ones are prettier in my opinion.
