why doesn't he punish the sin and not the sinner?

he allows the sin to go on, but tortures the sinner to eternal hellfire. that makes no sense whatsoever...

I agree with your view - the statement is nonsense - has no basis in Scripture. The sinner and his/her sin are inseparable.

anybody that could make a assertion that God hates any human isn't a Christian. God hates the sin yet loves the sinner. I easily have in basic terms been on YA approximately 4 months and that i've got in no way considered such disrespect and hatred spew forth from every person in the direction of Christians, gays and atheists. i've got not got any gay or atheist buddies as i'm a Christian, paintings for my church and don't bump into any that i understand of. I pray for the rude and obnoxious human beings on YA. they have souls too.

He punishes sin with sin. Also, God does NOT love everyone, as the world believes. God ONLY loves those that abide by His word - those born again in Christ Jesus. He does punish sin, which is why those who deny and reject Him get punished: because of their SIN! Why would God 'overlook' a sinner's sin and let it go unpunished? He doesn't! He does punish the sin BY punishing the sinner for committing sin in the first place!

Now, exactly how would one punish a sin and not the sinner? By making it unsatisfying?

Just as a parent loves his or her child, but not what a child does when he or she misbehaves...

How can the parent punish the misbehavior without punishing the child?

Do you mean to say that if little Johnny stole your car keys and wrecked your new Lamborghini, that you would toss the keys (they were partially responsible, after all), and kick the car, but let Johnny go with a kiss on his precious cheek and not another word? Oh, yeah, and because he suffered a moment or two considering the possibility that you might be angry about the damage...how about a thousand dollars to make up for his momentary distress?

So if Johnny has had 4 or 5 drinks too many (God bless his 14 year old heart!) before he takes the car, and in a temporary loss of common sense and control, hits every car and not a few pedestrians for an entire city mile before the cops pull him over, how quickly will you reward him for this?

Let's add drugs. He was indulging in his favorite parent-funded activity, before he started drinking. Before he stole the car.

How much punishment does the kid NOT have coming?

What about the damage caused to people who didn't know that Johnny's tenderhearted parent was going to smile and nod indulgently and practically hand Johnny the car keys before he took off, drugged and drunk?

Does he deserve to be punished for the damage caused?

What if some people were significantly injured? How much punishment does he deserve?

What if someone dies?

What if this isn't the first stunt like this Johnny has pulled? The third? The fifteenth? How many chances does he have coming before you, the 'responsible' adult decide Johnny needs to have his comeuppance in a big way?

Would it matter if he did all of this with your 20 year old Ford pickup?

What if one of the people he ran down was Grandma?

How much misbehavior is acceptable before he should face some serious repercussions?

Love Johnny. But in order to punish his behavior and lack of regard for the rules you should have laid down, Johnny will have to be punished too.

Que lastima.

So, if people--similarly--flout and /or blatantly ignore God's rules for an entire lifetime, and find out that they set themselves up for eternal punishment, why is God wrong?

Everyone gets the same chance to repent and accept Christ as Lord and Savior. That a person declines God's kind offer is, ultimately on them.

It's not the parent's fault that Johnny doesn't learn his lesson until it's too late.

Acts 17:31 (King James Version) Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (King James Version) For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ

2 Peter 3:9 (King James Version) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering [patient] to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Hope I helped. God bless you.

The sin does not exist with out free will and God gave that to us! Satan took our free will and manipulated it, so really what is free will if it is tampered with? So you have the choice to commit the sin, BUT you have the choice to not! or to ask for forgiveness... That is why my friend you as the unforgiven "sinner" shall parish.

ADD: Um God doesnt "Damn" us to hell Satan tricks us into thinking its the best thing on earth! WE CHOOSE our judgement day!

Romans 12:8-9

8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Love
9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Read the Bible everything you need or want to know the answer to is in there...But you have to have an open Heart and a willing mind..

He will when it's time for His return....
for now He is giving those who believe in Him time to save as many people as we can reach,, But it is really up to each person to make that choice,,,

He has to have the sin separated from the person. If He destroyed the sin that was present in our souls, then we would be obliterated (The sin is "attached" to the soul). That is why we must ask Him to take it away (Remove it and then destroy it). He won't do it unless you ask Him.

He does not allow sin to continue; people do (Free will). He does not torture you; Satan does.

Because the much hated sin would continue if you don't do something about the sinner.
