Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
27 For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.
28 She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
29
Who hath woe?
who hath sorrow?
who hath contentions?
who hath babbling?
who hath wounds without cause?
who hath redness of eyes?
30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek
mixed wine.
31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
33 Thine eyes shall behold
strange women,
and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake?
I will seek it yet again."
Proverbs 23:20ff KJV.

Actually No, in the old testament, there were two original words used for wine... new wine (grape juice) and old wine ( alcoholic wine). The new testament does not differentiate but we can speculate from the old testament usage of the words which is which. God does not approve of over-indulgence in Wine or any other fermented drink. New wine was actually considered the better wine at the time Jesus turned water into wine. It was fresh and good. Also, at the Lords supper.... it is speculated that it was new wine that was used.
I mean, would our saviors blood be old and fermented or fresh from the vine? I personally believe since it was without sin, it had to be fresh from the vine.

St. Paul instructs his young friend Timothy, a bishop in the Church, not to drink water exclusively, but to have some wine from time to time for health reasons (1 Timothy 5:23)
Jesus and His mother were at a wedding feast in Cana, and the wine ran out - at the request of His mother, He changed water into wine, pretty good quality stuff in fact (John 2:1-10)
Every day at Mass bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, which we partake of, as we are instructed to by Christ Himself (John 6:48-66).
Wine - an example of something good that has a special significance in God's scheme of things.....

i've got seen alot of persons say God hates sinners. i don't see how that's genuine, while God has unconditional love for all mankind. Does the solar not shine on the saved and unsaved? He needs us to receive the unfastened present of salvation to have eternal existence with Him. The very prevalent scripture, John 3:sixteen; For God so enjoyed the worldwide, that He gave His purely begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH in Him shouldn't perish, yet have eternal existence. once you settle for that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour, then you definately suspect, so then you definately want Him and elect to do what He needs you to do with regards to all components of your existence. only pray that he will handbook you in information.

Gods states that those who drink alcohol drink nothing but fire into their bellies. Alcohol is poison and a sin. God makes it known that it has some benefits but the sin out ways the benefit.
