Jews don't believe in Christmas because they were not yet still that Jesus Christ, (who is the reason there is Christmas) is the Messiah. They believe that the Messiah was not born yet. But according to the book of Revelation in the Bible, the Jews will believe that the Messiah is Jesus Christ.

Because they don't believe in Jesus the son of God - hence Christmas is a celebration of Jesus's birth. Most modern educated Jew's will not take offence - as Christmas is also a time to be around family and family is very important in their culture/traditions. I have wished Jewish people a merry Christmas without knowing they were Jews and they were fine with it.
BTW - Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year to you and your family.

Of course Jews don't believe in Christmas. They don't believe Jesus was their messiah.

It's not "wrong" to wish people Merry Christmas. But if the person you are speaking with doesn't celebrate it, you will appear to be ignorant, bigoted, or both.

Probably because they don't believe Jesus was the Christ. Therefore they don't think they have anything to celebrate. Nothing wrong with wishing them a Merry Christmas though. I mean, you don't hope they have a BAD Christmas just because they don't celebrate it!

Because Christmas was originally a pagan holiday. the Norse celebrated Yule from December 21, the winter solstice, through January. In recognition of the return of the sun, fathers and sons would bring home large logs, which they would set on fire. The people would feast until the log burned out, which could take as many as 12 days.

Why would it be wrong to wish somebody a Merry Christmas?

I wish people "Happy Birthday" even when it isn't my birthday. It is just a greeting and a wish for happiness. Nothing wrong with it.

Of course I would only wish someone Merry Christmas if I was positive that they actually celebrated Christmas. To say that to somebody that I know isn't part of that religion shows my ignorance and my lack of caring.

We do not believe in Xmas because we do not believe in J.C.
We do, however, wish people a merry Xmas. There is nothing wrong with being sociable!

The Bible - read you some.

I find nothing wrong with wishing someone a happy __holiday___. There's no point in me wishing someone who celebrates Hanukkah a happy Hanukkah, because coming from someone who doesn't celebrate it it's a bit pointless. It's enough for me that people wish me happiness in a way that means alot to them - more intimate.

We don't believe in christmas because there is no christ, therefore no "christmas".

We celebrate Hanukkah, which translates to "festival of lights" to celebrate the retaking of the temple from greeks and their multiple Gods a long long time ago.
