Self repentance does not need a witness. He or she is witness to his or her own deed.

It is not for us to judge whether a death bed repentance is genuine, or for that matter whether ANY repentance is genuine. That is God's job. He can read each individual's heart, motives, and intent.
We should accept with love and grace the possibilitity of gaining a brother or sister in Christ no matter when it is in the course of their life that they accept Christ as their Savior.

We are not supposed to know, after all God is the only judge. Ask and you shall recieve, forgiveness is offered by the death of Jesus, the main criteria is the ordained priest giving the last rights, he absolves the persons sins. This does not mean there is no penance in heaven but what is bound on earth is bound in heaven. Mathew.

There is no way that I personally could know for sure. There is one that I would almost be able to say was, but that is just what I believe. Only God, and the person on their death beds, know for sure.

Not your call...God is the only one capable of judging a person's sincerity in this respect. The way you'll know is if you get to heaven and find that person there!

It's not for you to know. God is the judge and look at the story of the man on the cross crucified right next to Jesus. He believed and Jesus told him, "This day thou shalt be with me in Paradise." If that isn't proof I don't know what is!

It's not up to us to decide if it was genuine or not. God knows if it was or not. I won't know until I stand before God.
