Well it depends on your sense of humor.
I find it hilarious especially when people do it at the worst possible time.e.g headmaster making a really boring speech and someone lets a fart echo all over the hall.
Some people think it is disgusting and that is because they have a different sense of humor or just think it is vial. It really depends on what type of person you are.

Demetri Martin made a bar graph about farts and how funny they are.
In a library they are funny, though they are funnier in a church.
Farting in my face actually goes below the graph into negative numbers, being not funny, however farting in my brother's face is off the charts funny.
Farting in a scuba suit, could be funny, but no one is sure.

i've been actually farting all night. my mom got pissed off and ignored me for a while. she can't stand it. it's natural and halarious. my husband and i have been naming them, rating them and giving them moods "grumpy" "sassy" etc. for the last 7 years. we can't get enough. I just had a HUGE fart. and my husband said "don't you just love those?" i tend to have a lot of farts, really loud ones. he gets envious because his farting is a bit more rare. but each and every one, we turn and laugh at eachother, or he'll be like "did you hear that" we laugh when we can hear our dogs fart. when mine stink real bad my husband says "dang, i wish that was mine" with mine he just smells real quick but with his he'll really sniff it out. we trap them under the blanket to engulf in them later. we have special "farting chairs" they make it so much louder. when he wears cover-alls at work, he says it's great because the fart goes right up into his face. we also use our hands to waft them into our faces.

It depends on how it happens..
as people have said before it depends on the situation..
but you have to be careful...it also depends on who your around etc, because sometimes people may think it is really immature..
