I'm willing to bet that one's WAY more difficult than it sounds. I have heard of people new to astral projection accidentally leaving body parts behind and being scared conscious but I believe, like Erika said, it was only the feel of something missing rather than the actual truth. But to do it purposely? Man, if you could project that brain of yours over here I could put it to some use. We'll make poetry.
I'd do just about anything to be able to astral project.

No. Your astral body and your physical body is connected by ONE (usually invisible) silver cord. Whenever you astral project, your entire astral self, leaves your entire physical self.
When you're about to astral project, it can feel as though different parts of your body are leaving the physical realm at different points in time. But in the astral dimension, time is relative. It basically doesn't exist, since time is the 4th dimension, and the astral realm is the 5th.

Well... I can see certain benefits for the men's health forum... it would make obsolete all the questions about how many inches is normal if it became common practice to astro-project a fragment of a man's thoughts directly into the far reaches of the universe aka women's health forum!

This could be potentially dangerous and I would advise you not to pursue this kind of behavior. You don't know what rules govern that state of consciousness and you are leaving yourself spiritually vulnerable to travel to a realm where you ought not to be in voluntarily.Anything can happen and what could happen is not worth the 'excitement ' of practicing this type of hypnosis. and spirit control.
