They don't get anything out of it.
They don't enjoy it.
The music isn't to their liking.
The Pastor made them feel guilty.
There are many other excuses for leaving church, but not too many are valid in the eyes of God.
Most of the people that attend church and leave, forget the main purpose of attending church. The focus of the church service should not be what they are getting out of it, or what they don't enjoy about it. The focus is to be on God not on themselves.
Max Lucado wrote a book titled "It's Not About Me". Going to church should never be about "me" it should be about Him.
Church is not a showcase for the saints, but a hospital for the sinners.

Which people do you mean? Some people go to church 3 times a year. Others go every week, some once a month.
People who decide to quit going altogether do so for different reasons. At times it is selfish reasons. Others have been injured by corrupted ministers.
It doesn't say "keep the sabbath." It specifically says, "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy."
Many leaders of congregations want the sabbath kept, but not kept holy. which defeats the whole purpose.
Personally I would rather hear the words of the Holy Bible read instead of 30-50 minute long sermons.
In the Bible, God said that we are to appear before him three times in a year.

in ordinary terms a hunch, and that i've got not seen the numbers to back this up: intercourse. a million) Protestant church homes tutor remarriage is fantastic. The Catholic Church teaches that, if it truly became right into a marriage, remarriage is barely ok whilst the ex dies. 2) Reproductive matters like abortion & sterilization fall below that heading, and can be an computerized excommunication. 3) gay marriage, additionally extensively a intercourse project, could play a function, yet I doubt it. the pro-gay crowd have been on the fringes of Catholicism in the 1st place.

1) The trend of even main line churches to succumb to the tenants of Fundamentalism and their attempt to shove down people's throats the belief in the inerrancy of the Bible -- after the teachings of Dr. Francis Schaeffer, and W. A. Crisswell. (Look what is happening today with the Southern Baptist Church, for example).
2) Disillusionment with the willful refusal of main line religions to accept the findings of modern science, psychology, and sociology.
3) The loss of credibility by advocating moral positions which are totally out of step with societies' modern understanding. (For example, in the Catholic Church today, even quite a number of its most learned theologians have been silenced by the Vatican for their "progressive" views mostly dealing with sexual morality and contraception).
4) More educated people are more skeptical and not so ready to believe just what is "handed to them."

I wouldn't comment like Christians do about Muslims on this forum. I don't come down to their level.
Plenty of other members are already telling enough why Christians are leaving Churches. My observation of
Evangelican preachers on television is look like they are acting in a play arranged for raising funds. They don't seem to have an spirituality neither on their faces nor in their words that a religious minister should have.

Because the church has backed itself into a corner with science and sex. And many don't find it as spiritually fulfilling as they need it to be. Things like yoga and meditation give spiritual benefits that are easily felt. I believe a large portion of them still believe in god after leaving. Religion and God are easily separated when needs be.

There is so much hypocrisy in today's churches that people see these and leave. Most churches today also don't follow the Bible, many people recognize that and detach themselves.

I lost interest in the things they were trying to cram into my brain. I stopped going and started diversifying my cultural interests and learning about how people worship in their respective area's and just say they should do as they please - they could all be right for all we know.
