there isn't a difference. they all mean the same thing just that "dating" sounds more mature so i guess younger people like to call it "going out" a lot like "hanging out" except with a bf/gf and not just friends

dating/going out is anything you do with your bf/gf...that could be seeing a movie (at home or cinema), going out to dinner/lunch with them etc

Going out on a date is just meeting with someone to enjoy an evening. Saying you are dating and going out with someone is the same thing in many cases.
Dating someone means that you are going out with one person rather that many.
Dating around means you are dating many people.
You can say you have a girlfriend and be going steady with her only.
You can say you have a girlfriend and she is just a friend who you are not serious about in a romantic way but have a friendship with.
Usually guys don't refer to other guys as boyfriends. The would say my buddy, my pawl, my bro. My boy. My man.

going out with a person means that you go on dates and you talk and things like that but there is nothing sexual about the relationship. dating a person mean that you become there bf or gf and you get to know each other deply and very intamitly where as going out is like becoming really good close friends

there is no difference anymore. Nowadays you have to work it out every time with any specific person.

That said, bf/gf usually refers to exclusivity. Except gf/gf, when it refers to female bff's. Or other female relations.

"Going out" either means dating or sexual interaction. "Dating" means going out or sexual interaction.
"Sexual interaction" means all sorts of things, including dancing with your girlfriend, whatever that means.

Don't feel dumb. As long as you think and talk, you'll be OK. Just keep thinking and talking.

Dating is usually the process of "getting to know" a potential future boy or girlfriend ... no strings attached...
once announced a boy or girlfriend, they are not searching for other partners any more (one hopes), and are now more seriously looking at their commonalities, and differences, while hopefully falling in love..... and ahhhhh, looking for a happy ending....

"Dating" is usually just going out on dates with no particular call on what the two of you are "boyfriend/girlfriend". "Going out with someone" is usually when the "boyfriend/girlfriend" titles come into play. Usually only when you have decided that you are "boyfriend/girlfriend" or you are "going out together", do the monogamy rules come into play. Like, no dating other people.
