Actually that seems fairly obvious. A better question is why God would put smart people on Earth.

So smart people would know the difference between them and themselves. Also so people could compare and wonder about them.
Perhaps to help someone become more spiritual, by not judging them and helping them along their way. There is always someone smarter who may think you as being stupid in comparison.

Yes. I've always struggled to explain why God would put someone on this planet who was an ignorant slob. Stupid people, those who can't even do simple things like capitalize correctly, really make me question his plan.

Because they're too stupid praying for them to be smarter that they dont really take the initiative to actually try to improve themselves
