Okay well I'd like to start off with I just want advice, I know in the end it's really what I wanna do, but I just wanna hear but people think about it. I'm going to a New Year's party , my mom's friend's party, and I was wondering if I should ask this kid I like to go with me, there wont be much people our age (17 and 16) but he's also my friend so I guess I could use that as a reason. I know crappy reason but it's all I got, he knows I like him and he likes me so yeah....he has no balls..Anyways I asked my mom if it was okay she said that she didn't know if he would want to go cause usually you spend New Year's with your family. So what do you guys think, should I or shouldn't I? Sucks that I'll have to have enough balls for the both of us ><

Hi,

I can see you dilema but if it is any help to you, I have often not had the balls to ask someone out that I really like. I know, from friend, and meeting them later, that I missed a great opportunity and a what could have been a great relationship.

Us men are in a dilema too. We are often criticised for being too forward, intrusive. We just cant win sometimes. I like friendships to evolve and don't like to rush things, giving the person I like a chance to get to know me at a distance.

I, like most boys and men, also get fed up with rejection. This is what happens so often, even when you know there is some interest there.

We are supposed to be more equal these days. You should take some responsibility for the relationships you start and risk the possibility of rejection.

Although I didn't have the balls to take the initiative in some relationships I soon found them once I did get up the nerve, or when the girl did.

There have been no complaints there, so take the risk and learn new skills and gain some confidence. We like girls / women who know what they want and have the nerve to get it.

Good for you, I say. Join the club and don't be so quick to judge.

you sound like you're conflicted about how you feel about him because, although you say you like him a lot, you keep degrading him by saying he has no balls. if that's important to you- him asking you out- then you asking him wouldn't satisfy you. but besides that, i think you should ask him. it'd be silly not to.

You should ask him. Maybe he'll grow some balls and give you a New Year's kiss! :)
