Lev 26:27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
Lev 26:28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
Lev 26:29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
Jer 19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.
He is not advocating cannibalism, as you said..That was the law imposed by God to the people of Israel for them to be righteous and the law on religion to the Israel people

Classic. Of course we didn't need anything except the exact verse in question... context never matters. You guys come running every time you find a verse that might possibly be misunderstood like its our job to explain it. Next time you pull a verse out of a search engine or some website you saw one time, look it up in one of the multitude of free online Bibles and at least start a paragraph above it. If you can manage, read the whole story. Being intelligent is not a requirement for Christianity. If you keep trying to outwit it, you will continue to think you do so because you never bother to fully understand it. A person who has made up his mind against religion is going to find what he's looking for because thats what he set out to find. You are not doing yourself any favors by wasting your time in front of us, so consider some effort if you ever plan on reading into again. I mean no disrespect, It's just logic and sense. Good luck in your search, if it ever begins. This doesn't come as a "flame", I just feel like I'm playing a game of Fetch with google. If it required more than a few minutes of reading, I would be pleased to debate with you.

No, those are threats, that if the Jews were to disobey the instructions of the Lord, they would suffer from the listed punishments, including being under seige and suffering such privations that they would be forced to eat the dead bodies of their starved children. Jeremiah describes those conditions during the seige of Jerusalem by the Babylonians. Cannabalism is not a good thing.

In those times, it was not uncommon for people to have to resort to eating the flesh of the dead during times of severe famine.

Thus, these verses were warning that severe famine could visit the Hebrews as a penalty for gross disobedience of God. These verses certainly do not advocate murder of one's children -- the cannibalism (if it were to happen) would have taken place after their deaths.

I used to think that Catholicism was sending the same message with the wine and bread at mass ... comparing wine to the blood of Jesus and bread to the flesh of him.... I've never been excited to receive communion for that reason, even though I know there is a deeper message there...

These are threats of horrible judgment, curses if you will, not dietary recommendations.
The writer is saying that terrible things will happen, not prescribing that the hearer do terrible things-
It's a savage world sometimes, and the bible contains numerous examples of that savagry.
