This is my first prescription for contacts, and I have 2 prescriptions before but only for glasess. I've been wearing contacts for over 5 months I guess and I am seeing less with and without contacts. I dont know what to do . I am so scared to be blind. I mean why is this happening to me?

If you are a teenager, a change of Rx in five months is quite possible, and almost normal.
Shortsight in particular, if present, tends to increase until growth stops, somewhere betweeen the ages of 19-24.
Nothing much to do with the wearing of glasses or contacts, except of course as the Rx increases, the correction becomes more necessary for more activities.

**There is no significant assocation with going blind.**
There's nothing unhealthy about shortsighted eyes: they'e slightly off the ideal shape, not on their way to "packing up."
(OK, give me thousands of cases, and I could find you a few exceptions, but that's it.)

It's happening to you largely because you have the genes for it. In some (the current evidence is the minority of people) reading too close for too long can accelerate myopic change.

Again, in some people, using rigid (hard gas permeable) contact lenses does appear to slow up the rate of change. This may extend to the newer Ortho-K type too.
If you're seriously worried about your change in Rx, you could investigate these possiblities with your optical professional.

your eyes are probably adjusting to the contacts. it should settle soon. if you have issues you should discuss them with your eye doc
