they should hold the conference in Bejing, where the air pollution from the world's #1 emitter of greenhouse gasses is so bad the only way they can have the Olympics next year is th shut down most industry for a month.
If they had it in Bejing, people could see just what unrestrained and unfettered dumping of CO2 into the atmosphere was like.
But then someone might have to point out the hypocracy of demanding the West stop power production and industry..........and that is exactly what Kyoto is, a demand to STOP......while ignoring the real problem of China.......musn't offend developing countries, after all....

The dam science has been missing but the issue of climate change is very real. Where do you live and is it in a climate where there are different seasons?
I grew up in Northern Canada and the changes in climate in my life time is dramatic. School was closed twice a year due to heavy snowfall and winters would see -40 degrees C without the windchill. Ducks and Geese migrated every year then, not now because there is open water.
In British Columbia we have lost freeze/thaw cycles that kill pests and Mountain Pine Beetles have thrived. They have devastated 50,000 square miles and growing. When I say devastated, we are clear cutting and creating more problems.
The toxicity ratio in newborns is 100%, how do babies that have never taken a breath get mercury, incinerated garbage, fire retardants, banned pesticides and hundreds more chemicals inside them?
The science has been flawed and needs debate before Bali but the issues are very real and more than alarming. Go to http://www.thermguy.com/globalwarming-heatgain.html to see the science that has been missing for meteorologists. There is a link at the top of the page to polluted newborns so you can see that toxicity study.

Because global warming is scientific fact. Proof below.
Sea levels are rising. Tons of data here. including a nice graph of satellite data on the first page:
http://sealevel.colorado.edu/
The Antarctic is holding steady due to the ozone hole. The center is growing, but the edges are shrinking. The Arctic ice cap is at record lows. And Greenland is melting fast.
http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=44416
http://www.thestar.com/ArcticInPeril/article/276883
The global temperature is rising, and the 30s were nothing out of the ordinary worldwide. NASA data:
http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs/Fig.A2.lrg.gif
It's not the UN that's meeting. It's the nations of the world.
Are all the world's leaders, stupid, ignorant, or part of a giant conspiracy? They don't want to have to deal with this, they know they have to.
BOATMAN 1 - Do you really think the interview on a Larouche site is more credible about sea level than the data from the University of Colorado cited above?
60 guys sign a petition. Against that you have the National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, etc. Thousands of scientists.
You seem like a guy who's interested in science. Do some real scientific research on this one in the library, not on political websites.
Denying global warming is exactly like denying we went to the Moon. You have to BOTH; deny the opinion of virtually the entire scientific community, AND assume that's there's an extremely improbable "conspiracy" being perpetrated. You also have to assume NASA is a bunch of crooks, since they solidly support the mainstream view.

This is a meeting of liberal elitists plotting to advance their global warming political agenda. They will be using global warming as an excuse to come up with ideas to gain more power over as many aspects of your life as possible.
Remember that the goal is globalization, a global carbon tax, and the United Nations running the world.

Scientific Fact Huh? Then why would this scientist write this article about the dirty "tricks" by the IPCC on sea level rise:
http://www.larouchepub.com/eiw/public/2007/2007_20-29/2007-25/pdf/33-37_725.pdf
and why would all these scientists sign a petition asking the government to reexamine the data surrounding GW----
http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.Facts&ContentRecord_id=1E639422-7094-4972-83AF-EE40EE302D41
and why are their PRO- global warming web sites attacking these scientists for their petition and "investigating their backgrounds" to see if they have any ties to "the oil or tobacco industry".
http://www.desmogblog.com/nils-axel-morner
Now tell me again that this is a SETTLED CONSENSUS issue------ and that the discussion is over.
http://www.iceagenow.com/Climatologists_Who_Disagree.htm
One of the "sceptics' was a former IPCC member who received a ".00001 portion " of the Nobel Prize---
http://www.iceagenow.com/Scientist_%20Rejects_Nobel_Prize_Share.htm
You can read his thoughts on the current state of GW and "computer modeling" above.
