depends, in part, on what else is in the room. The dominant color should occupy 60% of the space, a complimentary color, something like 30%. That leaves 10% for the accent color. SO, the question is, what else is in the room? Is the loveseat the dominant color or a compliment? What is the other color?
Try this site... it's still under construction, but it might help. Take a low resolution digital pix of the setting (loveseat, wall, draperies and maybe floor. Upload the picture at http://throwmeapillow.com/findcolor.html
the gadget will return a color average for the setting and recommend a couple of contrasting colors, according to an algorithim, based on the colorwheel. The second part "click on the picture" doesn't work... yet... but the first part works fine... Best of all, it's free!
We began developing it in order to help people with just your question... we intend to, eventually, use it to recommend specific pillows from http://throwmeapillow.com BUT it's free and it might help, even now... why not take a look?

Whites or Ivory would work well to lighten up the look. Maybe some throw pillows that have a variety of colors with touches of the wine.

Any lighter color would work. The dark color (wine) acts as a neutral, and any color could be paired with it. I would stay away from red and pink tho....too similar since they are in the same color family.

I wouldn't do anything irridescent, since it will be so bright it will contrast and not in a good way. I would use a khaki/taupe and lighter (sage maybe) greens. Maybe some burnt oranges and mustard yellows.
