Some protestent denominations call their clergy pastor, some reverend, some minister, some father.
Reverend is actually a title while pastor is more of a job title, like the difference between doctor and physician.
Typically the more structured and old the church the more likely Father (Anglican, Catholic), next is Reverend (Methodist, Unoted, Congregational). Pastor is usually used for evangelical churches like Pentecostals and Baptists. My wife is a United Church minister although when asked by evangelicals she uses the term pastor so they understand. She is Reverend Kathy (title), the church's minister (job).

Searcher is right, as there are several pastors who are not ordained as "reverend". And to paraphrase, Pastor is the duty while reverend is a title, more often than not.
Personal experience: I have had the privilege of serving as an interim pastor, or someone "substituting" until the church called or basically hired a regular pastor. This evening, I received a "call" to be a pastor of a small Southern Baptist church! Believers, my brothers and sisters, please pray for me and my church! But I've never been ordained, not yet, anyway so technically I'm not "Reverend Jonathan". Ugghh, that even sounds hard to swallow--what a mouthful!
*New material* thanks to davster for the info, as I didn't see your post while I was typing this.

In the Catholic priesthood, all priests carry the title of Rev. (short for Reverend).
Most priests are pastors, but not all. A pastor in the Catholic church is a priest who's in charge of a parish. (In many cases these days, a priest might be pastor of two or more parishes.)
Some Catholic priests are associate pastors -- the "second in charge" at a large parish.
And some priests are not assigned to parishes, so they are not pastors.
But again, all priests -- no matter where they are "stationed" -- carry the title of Reverend.
