I agree, but I must tell you that I have "crossed over" twice, so I have seen what is on the other side. What the quote is saying (in my opinion) is that once you have conquered the fear of death you can begin to live.

No learning is necessary, your body will know what to do when it is time. The quote misses the mark completely because some people are more afraid to speak in front of a group of peers than they are of dying.

I assume that this comes from the Biblical idea that we must die to self, which is to let go of old sinful ways. When a Christian does that, he has in fact learned to live a full, joyful and victorious life.

Be dead to the world and alive to Christ Jesus. I can mostly agree. Not just from a Christian standpoint either. I remember something in the old Bushido code of honor that reflected this sort of sentiment. That a warrior does not fear even death, but that if he accepts it he shall fight victoriously.

It goes along with the whole thing about living for Christ, but "dying" for living our own lives. If we hang on to our own ideas of what "living" is, we aren't really living. If we lay down our egotistical beliefs of ourselves and what life is all about, we just may learn something that will shock us into "really living." "Die" of yourself, and "live" the truth, for Christ.

I guess once you accept your mortality you learn to treasure the life you have. If that's what it means, I agree.

i agree. i think (from a christian point of view) that it means that once we give up our life to following jesus, we will find new life through him. in other words, if we love and desire jesus to the extent that our very life pales in comparison to obeying him, when we die, we will get to go to heaven and always be with him! thats what i desire more than anything; being with my jesus forever!
