Many people take the scripture at 2 pe 3:13 to mean that, but that contradicts what God says about the earth & Destroying all life like he did during the flood
(Genesis 8:21) . . . “Never again shall I call down evil upon the ground on man’s account, because the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up; and NEVER AGAIN SHALL i DEAL EVERY LIVING THING a blow JUST AS I HAVE DONE
Or think about the destruction told about at Jer 25:31-33 or
(Revelation 19:17-18) . . .I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: “Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God, 18 that YOU may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men . . .
so since the Birds will eat the corpses, the Fire would be metaphoric

(2 Peter 3:5-7) . . .For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.
Notice this compares the flood with the destruction of wicked mankind & also their governing authorities (the heavens)

GOD IS NOT GOING TO DESTROY THE EARTH, THE EARTH SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BECOME A GARDEN OF EDEN OR PARADISE WHERE PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE & SECURITY.
ARMAGEDDON IS SIMPLY HIS WAR TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF WICKED PEOPLE & ALL BAD THINGS THAT EXIST, & PEOPLE WHOSE WORSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM.
Why, though, would God wage a global war? Armageddon is closely related to one of his cardinal qualities, justice. The Bible declares: “God is a lover of justice.” He has seen all the acts of injustice perpetrated during man’s history. This naturally provokes his righteous displeasure. Thus, he has appointed his Son to wage a just war in order to do away with this entire wicked system.
Only God is capable of waging a truly just and truly selective war during which righthearted individuals, wherever they may be on earth, will be preserved. ) And only he has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is his creation.
What about survivors? Indeed, no one needs to perish at Armageddon. The apostle Peter observed: “God, does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” And the apostle Paul stated that God’s “will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
Consider the good Har–Magedon promises to achieve, godly humanity’s peaceful future on this planet, no more pollution, no more war, no more poverty, no more disease or even death. God promises: “Look! I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:3,4
The one's living in a Paradise Earth will be the survivors of Armageddon, and the one's that will be resurrected & obey the rules that are layed out by Jesus Christ.

No I do not believe it will be a literal fire. The animals have done nothing wrong and I think this time God will take that into account. Only the wicked people needs to leave to make the earth a paradise.
I think like psalms says, I remember reading where the last days you will see 10,000 on your right hand and 10,000 on your left but to you it will not go near. Talking to those who would be saved. Birds will eat them.
There deaths are not for the wicked people to see but for the survivors. So they will never forget it and sin against God.

It is symbolic:
The “fire” that comes from the truth will “devour” the doctrines and precepts of men. This means that when the true and correct translations and words of the prophets are given, those who have misunderstood or changed the truth of the prophets’ words shall be burned with the fire of embarrassment.

nicely, i'm not precisely lusting for destruction, yet will attempt to stability this out some. most of the individuals who're asserting "Lord Jesus, come immediately" are actually not those dancing with glee on the earthquakes, hurricanes, conflict, etc. they're yearning for a time whilst there's a sparkling heaven and a sparkling earth, whilst people who're ill, lonely, impoverished, downtrodden are completely uplifted, and people who're oppressing and doing evil would be punished. in short, they yearn for the time whilst "the wolf lies down with the lamb, and the lion eats straw" and whilst "there'll be not greater weeping, for God shall wipe away all tears." i could desire to easily as actual say, "Why do you opt for the creation to proceed to go through and groan for its redemption, merely given which you're content cloth?" yet i would not say that, because of the fact i don't think of you rather opt for others to go through so which you are going to be content cloth. Likewise, i don't seem forward to the deaths of hundreds of thousands so as that i will call it some sign from God.

What He said was that He wouldn't "completely destroy the earth and it's inhabitant by a flood of water again". His plan is to 'refine' it by fire. Only the wickedness will be consumed and what will be left, will be perfected by that fire. Anyone who really knows the Lord will not fear that flame, they will welcome the purifying process. You need Spiritual wisdom to interpret the Word of God. Not evertyhing is meant to be taken literally. Some things are symbolic and some are figurative.

You are going to have to get a better version.
Never again would God destroy by flood.
Yes, the Earth will be burnt, and yes, the elements will melt.
This whole world will pass away.
