i'm doing a hristology project in school and i would like to know, just in general, what it means to "see" jesus as savior/messiah.

i'm not looking for specific quotes from the bible to help explain this; just a brief summary from your point of view.

thank you!

When Jesus was on the earth, He performed miracles of various kinds: healing different diseases, calming storms on the Sea of Galilee, raising the dead, feeding many people, and so forth. All of these pointed to the power He had, which came from God. Also, he accepted worship from the man born blind (John 9) and from Thomas (John 20) and from others. NOBODY else ever accepted worship--angels didn't, and neither did men. Only Jesus did in the New Testament. But the greatest proof is in the crucifixion and resurrection from the dead.

Come to think of it, the Blue Letter Bible web site (www.blueletterbible.org) had a section devoted to this doctrine. If I'm not mistake, they had material from Lewis Sperry Chafer (a most brilliant man, and devoted Christian, too) about this. Good luck in your search.

Actually, any time you see "Christ" in the New Testament, you could substitute "Messiah", as both words mean "the Anointed or Chosen One".

I see Jesus as my Savior, the one who gave me the greatest gift of all. I feel thankfulness, love, a desire to know Him more and serve Him by showing His love and truth to others.
