No worries its pretty easy!!
1 egg
about 3/4 cup milk or you can use half and half
generous dash of Cinnamon
teaspoon of vanilla
Mix together with a fork or whip if you have it until well mixed.
Then heat a skillet on med with a little nonstick spray or butter. Soak your bread each side in the mix and lay in the skillet. Brown well on each side and remove. There should be enough mix for about 4 slices of bread. Serve with a little butter and your favorite syrup.
There is a baked version of this as well, but I dont have that one handy...good luck with this one its easier!!

How much do you want to make? For each 2 slices of French toast, you'll need one egg. You can use just about any type of bread you like.
Put the egg(s) in a pie plate, add 1 tbsp milk per egg and scramble with a fork. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg in.
Heat a frying pan or griddle on the large burner of your stove. Use a medium setting. The griddle or pan should be a thick heavy one.
Melt 1 tbsp of butter on the griddle, or pour on one tbsp of oil.
Let it get good and hot.
Take a slice of bread and lay it in the egg mixture. Count to three. Flip it over in the egg and count again.
Lay the bread on the greased griddle. After about 3 minutes, it should be nice and brown on the underside. Lift a corner of it with a spatula to check. When it's a beautiful golden color, flip it over and do the other side.
Remove the French toast to a plate and keep it warm. Repeat with the other slices.
Best of luck!
PS Milk doesn't if you don't make the heat too high.

Easy French Toast
4 eggs
1 teaspoon sugar, optional
cinnamon, optional
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
10 to 12 slices white bread
butter
maple syrup or other syrup
Break eggs into a wide, shallow bowl or pie plate; beat lightly with a fork. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk.
Over medium-low heat, heat griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter or margarine.
Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl or plate, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side.
Transfer bread slices to griddle or skillet, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side.
Serve French toast hot with butter and syrup.

hi, first by the thickest sliced potatoe bread you can buy, depending on how many slices , use 2 eggs with milk and scramble.add 1 tsp vanilla extract, and mix well . grease a griddle or pan.heat pan on high ,use 3 - 4 slices of bread , one at a time dip in egg mix and cover both sides. put in pan ,when it browns on one side, lower heat to medium and turn. when brown on other side remove, add a little margarine, or butter to top of french toast, you can sprinkle cinnamon or if you have confectioners sugar(YUM YUM) sprinkle that on too. use syrup. and enjoy.

French toast is basically bread soaked in scrambled eggs.
Scramble 4 eggs with a cup of milk ( half and half will do) and 1 tbs vanilla
Give the bread a good soaking- 1 min-flip 1min
When bread is completely soaked drop into hot frying pan over medium heat. 3 min on each side(approx )and they are
done. drop them on your plate, dust them with cinamon sugar and maple syrup and eat them.
Use challa bread or any thick sliced bread for best results
Enjoy .

Take a bowl. Put about 5 or 6 tablespoons of water in. Don't use milk! add three eggs, and some ground cinnamon. Add about a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Then take a wisp or a fork and stir briskly. I like to cut the bread in half then dip it in the egg batter on both sides [ only a few seconds or it becomes soggy ],and cook it in a frying pan or on a griddle. Butter the top when done cooking, and pour syrup over the top. Enjoy!

well, unlike the other reply, I DO use milk. Always have, even when working in various restaurants.
Too bad you're in such a yank to make it, cause it's really good when you use French Bread.
I worked in a French Cafe and we used to cook ours in a salute' pan using clarified butter. Whoo-eee!. :)
Oh yeh.. and we DID NOT use eggs. Rum & Milk.
