Since Hong Kong was part of Britain right???

Most of the people in Hong Kong are Chinese. Since it does not belong to the United Kingdom anymore, the people are not inherently British. Only children who has one British parent is part British.

You should write Hong Kong. Britain had never regarded Hong Kong as a part of the UK but an overseas territory only. Britain is only consisted of 4 areas, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Those holding passports before the handover has access to UK like any other British nationals. Now, they are just visitors.

Not quite right. You can still apply for a BN(O) passport. Most people chose nowadays a HKSAR passport.

The BN(O) passport will not give special landing rights in the UK.
