It's a very shallow cut and I'm 13 so I can't remember the last time I had a shot but it was probably less than 10 years ago.

Tetanus is an "anerobic" organism. That means that it only grows where there is no free oxygen. This means that puncture wounds are the ones to worry about NOT those that are on the surface. Tetanus is often associated with rust, especially rusty nails, but this concept is somewhat misleading. Objects that accumulate rust are often found outdoors, or in places that harbor anaerobic bacteria, but the rust itself does not cause tetanus. If you have had a tetanus shot within 10 years, you would have protection. If it has been more than 10 years, you need to get a booster anyway.

Do as a previous answerer suggested and clean the wound with soap and water and apply a topical antibiotic ointment to help prevent infection.

When was the last time you had a tetanus shot? They are good for 10 years, so.... If you don't remember, you should get 1. Believe me, that shot, is nothing compared to the disease...

Ask your Mom to check your shot record. If she cannot find it at home ( they are ALWAYS hard to find when you need them!), she should call your doctor's office or your school in the moning and ask them to check the record they have on file. If there is any doubt, you should go in and have a tetanus shot.

It bled and you washed it so I don't think you have anything to worry about. most tetanus comes from deep punctures with little bleeding

Yes, go to a clinic and get your shot. And, clean it very well right now, soap and water (plenty), betadine, neosporin, and a band aid.
