its still under warranty or it should be ,take it in to have it checked, its either the linkage needs to be adjusted or the cog on the gear has broken,id say its more than likely the linkage cable that has stretched out of place ,either way its not safe though, have it checked it may still be under warranty, and may not cost you nothing, there was defect on some of the cars for doing this and that one may fall under the defect warranty also, good luck.

the recall they are talking about was not for the truck coming out of park. the recall is E-17. it is a controller flash that makes the lights flash and horn honk if you open the door while not touching the brake and the truck is moving. it lets you know that the truck is in gear, because apparently it is hard to remember to put the shifter in park. (we all called the recall the dumba$$ alarm) on your truck you may have a shifter cable out of adjustment, the park rod c clip may be gone and the rod fell off, broken park pawl, or the small bolt that holds the guide for the park pawl may have walked out. have it checked out asap so noone gets hurt and noone holds you responsible for your truck rolling into their car.

It sounds like the park pawl or pin is broken. Maybe somebody put the vehicle into park while it was rolling. Try calling the Dodge dealer to ask if there were any recalls that you are unaware of.

There is a service bulletin (TSB) out which directly involves trucks slipping out of park. This service bulletin is free of charge and I strongly recommend you getting your vehicle to a dealer ASAP.
