And you're surprised? Credit card companies start 'em off as early as possible, wrecking their credit while still in the cradle.

If she filled out an application, I doubt she put she was only 13. If she had she would not have been approved.

Under 18 requires a guardian to back the card purchases. The card company wants someone they can sue for payment if delinquent. Your sister couldn't get a card as a 13 yr old.

Since your parents will be the ones who will have their credit wrecked if your sister doesn't pay the bills, it would be wise to tell them what is going on.

Well they shouldn't have done that.. but if there are age restrictions on the card then she shouldn't have accepted. Sometimes contracts such as between a credit card company and a customer can be enforceable regardless of age - it's a special exception to contract laws but mostly contracts made with minors are voidable. You should probably step it to get this card out of her possession.

She won't go to jail or anything, don't worry.

Somehow, they retrieved her name and added it to their mailing list. This is not uncommon. They usually get people's names, addresses and phone numbers from websites. Some websites sell your information to other "third party sites". This is where a lot of our sales calls come from. Call the company and cancel the card. It might seem like free money to her now... but the bills will pile up and haunt her later. Hope this helped!

Not if she lied to them. Then she goes to jail. You see in today's society a pedophile can molest a child, get a slap on the wrist and turned loose.
However, cheat a credit card company out of money you will do hard time and LOTS of it.Its all about money.
You better tell your parents.

Wow!
They normally will do a credit check on you before issuing a card.
Do your parents know about it? If not, they will when they get stuck paying the bill.

Actually, yes. However, theres a big chance that she lied about her age to get it. So, it's not really their fault if they didn't know. But if they did, yes, it is their fault.
