On wednesday night,I believe, she was dreaming about bunnies tugging at her legs but then they started to get aggresive,so much that she woke up but still felt something pulling her legs so she was just kicking whatever.she didnt think much of it. the next night however, she couldn't sleep & the dream came to mind.as soon as she remembered she felt something hit her shoulder back.then everything started to shake & she thought it was an earthquake [live in ca].she tried to reach for me, thinking i'd probably be scared but she couldnt move.she was being held down & couldnt move.the shaking went on for 10 secs then stopped for about a sec then started again for 5 secs. then it stopped.she just laid there thinking about what just happend & then she heard a little boys voice saying 'mom mommy mom'.she heard him say it like 6 times & she thought it was my little nephew & so she went downstairs to see what was wrong.he was w/my mom & she woke when my sister was asking my nephew what was wrong.

My mom asked her what was wrong & then that's when she realized that it wasn't my nephew who was calling out mom. & after the shaking happend, she heard the bathroom dorr open, thats when she came down & found my oldest brother. she asked him if there was just an earthquake & she said no.So she stayed there just thinking about everything. then she started to hear steps in my room & thought it was me who woke up, walking around. however, i didnt wake up that night or if i did, i don't remember. but i'm pretty sure i didnt go to the bathroom or anything, i'd remember & i don't sleepwalk so yea. so now we're wondering why this happend. on tuesday night, this guy was shot & killed on our block. my mom thinks it was him who came to scare her, for making fun of him. my cousin had told me something like this before & i think she said it was a witch but that was something else. can anyone guess why this happend to her??

One of the problems with this kind of thing is that people tend to use an either/or approach instead of a both/and. The feedback on here has been excellent. We really don't know if she has some kind of sleep disorder or not and that warrants checking out. If/when there's paranormal activity it isn't always demonic but the problem with this situation is that the medical community simply won't recognize that it even exists. If this activity persists you will need to get in touch with a shaman who can instruct you on how to get this thing out of the house. There are different kinds of shamans all over the country; I used an auric healer for something similar and that worked very nicely. Watch your sister for any change in behaviour especially in the context of new skill sets she didn't have before and couldn't have learned in a short period of time. If you see this contact me on yahoo. Stay open minded and, for starters, go buy some indigenous sage. Letting this smoulder around the house not only is calming but also sends a signal to unwelcome visitors that it's time to go. I'm VERY happy you have some adults involved that are open minded enough to see all the possibilities here.

Sounds like a spiritual attack...
It is possible (as some other people have said) to be the spirit of the person who was recently killed in your neighborhood. However, if it's not, then I don't know why she is being randomly targeted.
I've also had nightmares where I'd wake up and feel myself being held down with my heart beating a thousand times per minute.
From your other questions, it seems like you might be Christians??? Have you sister try reading Psalm 91 & 121. Whenever she has the nightmares, she should also try repeating this phrase "I plead the Blood of Jesus" until the moment is over. According to the Bible, the Blood of Jesus serves as a protective/defensive element in situations of spiritual warfare. Some people may tell you what your sister experienced is not real...or that she is crazy, deranged, mental, needs a psychiatrist/mediation, or whatever. Although this is not a normal or everyday encounter, what she experienced is quite real.
Even if you guys are not Christians, all she needs is faith and everything should be alright.

possible paranormal activity or demonic possession. I doubt it is anything neurological because it has just started recently and she hasn't had this happen before. very scary stuff! I would suggest contacting a paranormal investigating group or clergyman if these problems persist. they seem to be targeting only your sister so have her present when you do get help over to your house. best of luck! EDIT: regarding what your brother has seen, it is probably a haunting...more than likely an intelligent haunting that can either be good or bad. It may even be that guy who was shot and killed on your street. But if your sister keeps being attacked and held down while she is trying to sleep, then it may well be a demonic entity trying to possess her. tell her not to give up, and keep praying everyday! It cannot take over unless she is willing and gives up! PS: never rule out ANY possibility!

I think part of what is going on is a state called "sleep paralysis" which is in between sound sleep and true awakening. In that state, a dreamer is likely to be unable to move even a tiny amount. This is due to the chemical in our brains that cause us to be "paralyzed" while we sleep. If we didn't have that, and forgive me because I can't remember the name, we would all be acting out those dreams. If you were dreaming that were walking outside, you WOULD be up and walking if it weren't for that chemical.
The other thing that happens during sleep paralysis is a feeling of "presence." Usually it's another person who's face you can't quite make out, or aliens, or even rabbits. While you are looking, and completely unable to move you feel an intense sense of fear and dread. Those are called hypnogogic hallucinations. Happens to just about all of us at one time or another.
Once you recognize them, they won't be any thing to fear. The times I've been in that state I've seen darkly clothed individuals standing at the foot of my bed. I heard voices SO real calling my name that I get up and look to see if there is anyone in the house. I've heard foot steps and lots of other stuff. On top of that, I couldn't move a muscle. Talk about weird.
But I don't have them often anymore. I used to like to see how long it lasts.
Unless your sister is posing a threat to her safety or that of others, I wouldn't worry. Do have her see a doctor, such as a sleep disorders doctor, if it becomes really troublesome.

I don't know if your religious or not. Many people talk down at religious people, but their are no atheists in fox holes. I believe your solution is a spiritual one. If you went to church when younger, go back. If you have an alcohol problem, go to A.A. Search yourself and study the 7 deadly sins! Most Religions have a lot of good living principles, which have been butchered by Religions, It's quite possible you need to start living by these principles! I hope this helped, and I didn't intend to sound demeaning. I've had some similar experiences and I found a spiritual solution. Good luck on your quest. Peace to you and yours!

Ok, I don't want to sound like a nut case but, use a video camera or webcam or sound recorder and see if its a ghost afterwords crank up the volume if theres any unusual sounds or talk to a psychic.
Or a general option like a doctor or professional.
I've only had one dream that woke me up in my whole life, being on time for driving school.
If you have "General Anxiety Disorder" which is a brother to "Social Anxiety Disorder", although people with the "general version" more likely have a hard time "getting to sleep or staying a sleep."

It was probably a dream/reaction to the murder on your street. The mind is a mysterious place. No one knows exactly how it works. Your nephew being there was added into the stew by her subconscious. She may or may not have more dreams like this until the fear from the killing gets out of her system.

Look up sleep paralysis. My mother goes through the same things. She feels as if she is bound and cannot wake up or move at all. The reason you go into REM sleep is so when your dreaming about choking someone for example you won't turn over and start choking the person laying next to you. She mght of woken up during REM sleep.

Yea, I would say it sounds like sleep paralyses. I've noticed that if I'm under a lot of stress or have something on my mind before I go to bed then I will often experience it. Such as she may have been thinking about the guy who was shot and so she had one of these episodes.

It sounds like she had an anxiety provoked seizure. If she is not on medication for anything, or drugs of any kind, I would consult a doctor immediately. Seizures can cause brain damage if left unattended to. It sounds like she could be schizophrenic. If she was asleep and does not remember any of it, it was just a night tare and that is nothing to be worried about, my son gets them all of the time. Sometimes I catch him peeing in the middle of the night in strange places, and sometimes screaming and inconsolable. But if she was completely awake, definitely consult a doctor, it sounds like a seizure. Good luck to you both.
You seem to think you know what it is, saying it wasn't a seizure and it's not this ans that, if you care about your sister I wouldn't be playing doctor here. She needs help, or she's just trying to scare you.
