Maxima is the largest of all the Nissan sedans models. Back in the days they used to be called 4DSCs (4 door sports cars) it is definitely a fun car to own. As for mileage, US annual average is about 15K (15000) per year so nothing more then 40k for a 2006. As for price, go to www.kbb.com and look up individual cars based on mileage and package (SC or SL). You should pay nothing over $20,000. Also if you are buying from a private seller or a "small" car dealer. Take the car to the local Nissan Dealership to be looked at. A $150.00, well spent... Good Luck !!!

Great cars with large interior space so the kids can grow up with the car. One of the best engines anywhere. You cannot go wrong with a 2006 Nissan Maxima or Altima with the 3.5 liter engines What you expect to pay varies with condition and where you are buying the car from. Check all the internet sales places and used car lots. Always buy the very best condition car you can afford. Get the seller to run a car fax. and have the car mechanically checked before purchase at a Nissan dealer.

Well I know that there are two decades in the middle here but my first car was an '87 Nissan Maxima...and after that car I will NEVER own another Nissan as long as I live.
As far as a good family car, obviously you would want something with 4 doors, lots of trunk space and good gas millage.

Nissan Maxima 2006 should not have gone more than 80-90 thousand miles because it 2 years old but i would get a Nissan Altima for a family car its bigger than the sentra or Maxima

Actually I would normally say the Max, but with the Altima looking identical to the Max you mind as well save a few bucks. The new Altima are just as classy, roomy and stylish as the Max, plus anyone can easily mistake the Altima for the Max, I know I have.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but I wouldn't get anything with any more than 120k miles.
