I think your list sounds quite complete & very reasonable. I generally shop year-round & stash the stuff away until the silly-season. Here's my list for the kids:

4 year old girl-
1. A Barbie-sized (for 12" dolls) 3-story doll house with a manual elevator & furniture (made by KidKraft).
2. A Barbie Doll as Rapunzel (Bride), with a Ken as (Groom) Prince Stefan, the 3 little Kelly flower girls & little boy (I think they're Prince Stefan's younger siblings?), in addition to Botticelli the Horse & a Wedding Carriage.
3. A Baby Doll w/carrier.
4. Preparation for Kindergarten work book.
5. Disney Princesses bedsheets & Quilted Cotton Comforter.

5 year old boy-
1. Boy's Firehouse Bookcase (by KidKraft) to fit 12" dolls & a GI Joe Firefighter & Barbie (Career Series) Firefighter doll
2. GI Joe Fire Truck/Ambulance that fits the 12" dolls & firefighting equipment
3. Preparation for 1st Grade work book.
4. Cars Racetrack
5. Disney Pirates of Caribbean bedsheets & Comforter

Both of them:
Pj's, socks & underwear
Numerous DVD's & Activity Books
Kid Concoctions Set (super fun!)
Crayola Washable Markers & Crayons
Princess Hopper & Spiderman Hopper (big blow-up balls you sit on w/handle & bounce along)
IMAGINEXT T-REX Mountain with additional accessories
Games: Yatzee Jr., Mouse Trap, Operation
Disney Camp Chairs (1-Princesses & 1-Mickey Mouse)
Disney "Moon" Chairs (1-Princesses & 1-Cars)
Baseball gloves that light up like lighty shoes when the ball hits the glove (a boys & a girl's version)
Ugly Stick fishing poles & new tackle boxes
Outdoor games like Badmitton, Croket, Frisbee, etc.

In addition to my 2 children, I have a wonderful new man in my life with a 21-year old daughter:
Dresden Dolls Companion Book (will be a sure hit)
Dresden Dolls T-Shirt (will be a sure hit)
Cold weather wear: new hat, gloves, ski-suit & Ugg Boots
Costco Cash Card

My man's taking us on a trip in the new (to him, it's a 2001) Coach (motorhome) to some nearby (6-8 hour drive) National Parks for the week between Christmas & New Year's. So, Santa will find us there, & at home when we get back home since all the stuff I got for Christmas won't fit in the Coach!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!

Wow, I think these kids will have an amazing Christmas. It sounds like you have put a lot of thought and care into getting these gifts and thinking them out. I know the kids will be pleased. The gifts might feel like too much because there are 4 kids... but as someone else said, if this is their first Christmas with you, it is your way of showing them how ok their lives will be from this point on. I agree with the person who said to go with the baby doll at American Girl... a couple of years ago I got my daughter the twin dolls, she LOVED it! I think this is plenty for the kids... if you are ever looking for more to get them consider games. Memory games for the 4 year old, Sorry and Trouble for the 5 & 6 year old. I also would encourage books. They probably were not read a lot of books before and it would be great to start them on it soon.

Good luck and happy holidays!

7 Reasons LaserPegs Make Ideal Stocking Stuffers for the Kids in Your Life (http://amzn.to/1llj6zq)

Looking for a great stocking stuffer for a terrific kid? Although stocking stuffers may seem like they should be no-brainers, they can actually be tricky to find. Small gifts for children that rise above the level of cheap plastic toys that you'd find as Happy Meal prizes can be quite elusive.

Never fear: LaserPegs make a perfect stocking stuffer for the kids in your life. Here's why:

1. They're the perfect size. LaserPegs come in small kits that are just right for stocking stuffers. Try Zippy Do kits for a great little gift.

2. They're great for kids of all ages. Any child who loves to build will love LaserPegs. They can be combined and reused in thousands of new projects, and kids are free to make them more complex as their skills improve.

3. They work with existing Legos. If the child in your life is a Lego fan, he or she will love LaserPegs! They click together with all the blocks they already own, but they're even more fun because they light up!

4. You can never have too many. If your kids are hooked on building blocks, it's easy to make them a little gift bag of extra individual pieces. True fans will be grateful for extra pieces, especially wheels!

5. LaserPegs support STEM learning. Science, math, and engineering are the subjects of the future, and your child can hone valuable skills of scientific inquiry and learn to think like an engineer when building vehicles that really move.

6. LaserPegs are equally popular with boys and girls. You don't have to worry about finding a "girl" toy and a "boy" toy that are similar to keep everyone happy. LaserPegs' bright colors and lights are a hit with everyone!

7. LaserPegs are high quality. You don't have to worry about LaserPegs bricks and accessories breaking by New Year's Day. They're built to last through whatever building experiments your kids can create.
Small but mighty, LaserPegs make a great stocking stuffer for your favorite kids. Let Santa know!

Yes it's okay
It's there first christmass, for what you said in your last questions

For the four year old, I would get her a baby doll, she will like playing with it more then the American girl doll. She a bit young for that doll. A baby doll and crib would be better
American girl, I believe sell baby dolls

If it makes you happy to get your children these very nice presents, then go ahead! Each of mine will get about four nice presents (definitely that bouncy retro caterpillar [like I had] that you sit on for my two year old), and some transformers for my six year old. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Merry Christmas.
