If your flight gets in too late and you miss the shuttle you can crash at MCRD for about $15 for the night. I didn't know the USO closes when the airport does for the night and ended up catching the shuttle in the morning. Oh yeah, the taxi might cost a little more depending on where you have to go, cheaper for Del Mar than for Las Pulgas and San Mateo.

By taxi you're looking to spend about $45-60. However if you're military. Go to the USO and they have a shuttle that usually takes you up to Pendletucky for $19. If you're driving yourself. Go directly to 5 North. All the way up to pendleton, you'll see the signs.

Go to the airport USO, there are shuttles to Pendelton. However the next best and cheapest way is to Take a cab from airport to amtrak station on downtown SD. The train stops in Oceanside and then you can cab it to the main gate of pendelton. The train ride is way cheaper than the cab ride of close to $100.
Another way might be to go to MCRD and see if they can help.
