Ok before I was in the picture Vanessa (she's like a daughter to me), would constantly call Jenna's boyfriend "daddy" between may 2004-sept2004, then between sept 2004-april2005, she would call me "daddy", then Jenna's ex was back in vanessa's life in the summer of 2005, and she went back to calling him "daddy", but as soon as I was back in the picture, she went back to calling me "daddy", who does she see as her dad, me, or jenna's ex?

For the record I have been a constant in Vanessa's life since she was 10, she's 13 now. Mike (Jenna's ex) has only been around in the summer of 2004, and summer of 2005.

I have gone to all of her school functions, I have walked her to/from school whenever she asked me to, I have helped her with homework, I have been the one she has to for advice, I never judge her, I make her laugh, and above all else I am there for her no matter what.

the kid should Not be calling ether one of you daddy...is it your kid? Have you made a life commitment to this child or her mother? Until then you are helping to confuse and damage that little heart, who just wants to have a father. Man up...get married if you love this broken family...

Not really enough information. We don't even know how old the poor kid is, but I am guessing that she is really young. Lay off the poor kid; she is probably confused, first of all - second of all, she can have two dads. I always called my best friend's mom, "mom", as did my daughter's best friend call me. When someone spends a lot of time with you, and they feel close, they can call you that as an honor.

Does that really matter? Think of what this poor kid is going through. If you care, just be there for her and love her like a real Daddy should. Good Luck!!

She probably thinks you both are for the time-being. If you are still in her life tens years from now then it will definitely be you. Children's loyalty must be earned. But once it is, nothing can replace you, so long as you don't provide a need to be replaced.
