So why do we continue using poorly armored hummers. Why can't we just recreate vehicles such as the Buffalo EOD vehicle to be a troop transport.

Im with an engineer unit in afghanistan, and yes the Buffalo is a good way to find and and try to nuetralize an IED, however if a Buffalo is hit it can be just as devastating and a hit on a 1114 or 1151, The problem with getting better armor on vehicles, is that the insurgents will just make bigger bombs, I have seen a front axle cut through a buffaloand take off the legs of a driver and TC, The buffalos were made to deflect blasts, and usually do well, but they dont always stop shrapnel and whatnot from penatrating the hull of the vehical...

there have been WMDs in China, Russia, Israel, France and Pakistan. enable's not be stupid approximately why we invaded Iraq. Why use what politicians reported they thought as a controversy? all of us comprehend what politicians are. We have been controlling and containing Iraq ever on account that barren area typhoon. Sadam became a monster. So are the leaders of many different countries. countries we not basically refrain from invading, yet relatively help. Ask the Iraqi human beings as an entire despite the fact that if or not they're satisfied we invaded. I even have my doubts. that's plausible a number of those nonetheless alive would be greater effective off, yet there became, and nonetheless is, somewhat some suffering... so some distance as international warming is worried, time will tell. It hardly concerns what each guy or woman can coach - the companies won't enable our (their) congress to vote for any rules.

For the same reason that even body armour and proper kevlar took so long to get to our troops.
And how long did it take our latest batch of reinforced humveess to get there....5 years?
Its big business here in its worst form.
Contracts go out to preferencial companies that are in bed with the repubs and the president.
just like the M-4/M-16 guns
Everyone in combat will tell you they jam like crazy..
theres a new weapon thats better than the current army rifle...but it wont be contracted because of the political allies made.
Just like Haliburton got all those no bid contracts.
Theres also other vehicles that test better..but the pentagon will block those from being tested in the field to protect the current contracts..their friends.
Its terrible and unlawful to have sacrificed our soldiers because of big business.
But thats our republican party.
And anyone that dares try to argue...tell me why it took so long toget kevlar....and the new reinforced humvees to our troops when Democrats have given all the money to the president that he wants??

Americans are the deadliest threat in Iraq. If you threaten an American soldier, you most certainly will die.
The politicians have no interest in the soldier on the ground. From personal body armor, to armored humvee's, to lack of medical and mental treatment post theater - Their actions have made it clear that they have other motives in mind for being in Iraq. And yet they will let their mouthpieces try to make you feel guilty for not supporting the troops by not putting a stupid magnetic sticker on your car. It's truly sickening...
My heart goes out to all the soldiers who have performed their duty and served their country. I only wish the politicions did the same...

... to American and Coalition troops, yes.
Iraqi on Iraqi outright mass murdering is far more dangerous.
The lack armor on the Humvees is an old issue. You just can not make everything bomb proof. Sad to say.
America has to nuke Iran to stop the I.E.D.s in Iraq. I hope that it happens soon.

Because politicians are corrupt and line up their own pockets first. Do you really think they care who lives or dies? They are phony as a three dollar note. Check out the voting record of your own senator or congressman or congresswoman---you will be shocked at the lack of leadership and initiative.

I'd say our timidness (read altruistic rules of engagement) is the root threat that makes the others possible (IEDs and otherwise). We refuse to clobber the hoodlums, hence they think there's a real chance that they can win.
