i'm a girl by the way, i know my picture is a guy but whatever..

anyway, WHY do i have huge calves? and, i know there are probably no ways to get rid of them but can i prevent them from growing or something? i'm 14 so they probably wont grow a lot more anyway. so, i go to the gym like 2 or 3 times a week. does working out make the muscles in my calves bigger? so anyway i have to wear pants every day, even in the summer, and i live in one of the hottest states so i pretty much hate my legs. and dont give me any crap about accepting myself for blah blah blah. it just wont work this time... =/

the potential for growth in a muscle is determined by the length of the tendons that attach the muscle to bone. if you look at your calfs the tendon that attaches the bottom of the calve muscle to the bone is very short. short tendons make for large full muscle bellies. this is purely genetics

Well, I'm no expert, but I'm on the Cross Country team and everybody there has pretty thin calves. Maybe if you tried running it would solve your problem. At XC, we do about 4-5 miles a day. You don't have to run that much, but if you do it could start to make a difference. Hope this helps.
