Its strange cause its not like cash or jewels which are impossible to trace after the theft.

The only explaination is that they knew who they were going to sell it to at the time of the theft- a die hard black market collector

Somewhere out there is a collector who has no soul. One of the VC medals and bar that was stolen belonged to Captain Charles Upham, New Zealand's greatest war hero and the only man to get two VCs in the same war. I recall his passing and my listening to his funeral service on Radio New Zealand International in 1994 or 1995. Shortly after I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Bolger, expressing my condolences at his nation's loss. Several weeks later I received a hand-written letter from Captain Upham's widow who was in her 90s at the time, which I treasure to this day.
The police are collecting forensic evidence and I hope they catch these despicable thieves shortly. I think placing them on Macquarie Island in the sub-Antarctic after the dogs have been released to take care of the wild rabbit population might be a fitting sentence.

The lowest scum on the planet. Hope the thieves are caught and dealt with offshore because the legal system in New Zealand is a joke and 99.999% of all caught thugs/killers get bail.
